Kontakt 6 instrument settings not recalling

Thanks all for the incredible help. In the end, I deleted the relevant lines that pass the gui control to the relevant parameters, to keep RR and HW on permanently, and saved as a new preset, which all suits me fine. It all taught me how much there is to learn with Kontakt scripting, and I just...

Kontakt 6 instrument settings not recalling

The script is not locked and accessible. Anything I should look out for, so I can fix it? I'm not sure I can post the entire script here, but see the snippet in the attached screenshot. Basically I'd be happy to lock both of these parameters to "on", and happy to lose the GUI control over them.

For example the Imperfect Samples Fazioli does not recall the "Hollywood" and "Round Robin" settings, when loading the Logic session again, or when recalling a saved channelstrip. Whenever the Fazioli is loaded it loads with "Hollywood" off. Similarly, on the (excellent and free) St...

Plugin for adding realistic vibrato to live flute?

I've just had a very similar requirement: to add vibrato to a recording of live whistling. My solution, in Logic, was to select "Convert regions to sampler track". Then, in the Sampler (aka EXS24) you can add the modulation you want with the desired LFO waveform (eg sine or sawtooth), and for...

Replacements for R4 and Nimbus reverbs post-EOL

No problem, I've removed the post. I only posted this in case it's of interest to anyone. That worked, thanks! Now, with the import, I managed to get Symphony to sound close enough to R4. The tail sounds near enough the same. As the early reflections are much denser on Symphony, and the R4 patterns are not available, , I make the following adjustments. Early Attack: approx 7%...

Replacements for R4 and Nimbus reverbs post-EOL

R4 introduced density modulation, which is nice because it doesn't alter the pitch (like chorus etc does). Maybe it's similar to the old Lexicon spin or wander parameters. I'd imagine that's quite hard or impossible to apply to a fixed IR.
  14. Dom

Replacements for R4 and Nimbus reverbs post-EOL

Yep, I have also found that I can't get Symphony to sound like R4. In those instances, R4 just sounds deeper and richer. Indeed Symphony and Stratus have more complex and denser early reflections, which is nice. But the tails are inferior to R4, to my taste. Is it worth raising this with...

Logic X: Saving patches won't save delay offset?

Logic X: Saving patches won't save delay offset?

On the Expert Sleepers legacy downloads page it says plugins are 32/64 bit, but this version 1.03 from 2010 just gets ignored by Logic's plugin validator. It's not that it's not passing, it's as if it's not there. My only other AU application would be Final Cut Pro. The same happens there.

Logic X: Saving patches won't save delay offset?

It's a good idea! The latest version of Expert Sleeper's Latency Fixer I found is on the legacy downloads page and is from 2010. It doesn't work here with Logic/Catalina. Are there other, 64 bit compatible latency fixers? Cheers Dom

Kontakt 6 loads much faster in Cubase

If you are using the AU version (like in Logic, or potentially VEP) then it's very easy. Just remove the Kontakt 5 plugin from the components (plugins) folder, and any existing Kontakt 5 instance will now automatically load in Kontakt 6. AFAIK the VST version can't do this.

Hey Jim, Apologies, I think it was me who confused the conversation. I was asking whether one could have Mackie Control on the "A" bank, and controllers on the "B" bank or vice versa. So easily switchable, without having to restart the unit.

Thanks both! That's very useful. Yeah possibly the Mackie Control mode simulation could work. The MC midi messages are quite straightforward. Faders are pitch wheel, encoders are CCs, buttons are notes. But I wonder if if in the simulated mode (but essential in standard midi mode) it is...

    Logic slaving to Logic

I just checked on my rig. Logic does indeed not send useful data while scrubbing. Pro Tools for example can't scrub along. It goes back and forth by 1-2 secs all the time in a mess. I just never noticed, as I never use 'scrubbing', but instead the key-commands 'fast forward', 'forward'...

*RESOLVED* Spitfire UACC not working correctly

It's just a matter how it's displayed. Some DAWs display C4 as C5, some display (7 bit) program change 0 as 1 etc. The same may apply to CC, that's all.
  32. Dom

*RESOLVED* Spitfire UACC not working correctly

You're right 7 bit is always 128 steps but it depends if you count from 1 or from 0. If you count from 1 then 128 would be the maximum. I know the 0-127 vs 1-128 scaling can be a problem with program changes, there are two different standards.
  33. Dom

*RESOLVED* Spitfire UACC not working correctly

Something to do with the CC scaling of your DAW or controller? Normally midi CC values are 0-127, and Spitfire UACC adheres to this standard. Logic for example too. But maybe your controller outputs 1-128? If you try 41 or 43 for spiccato?

Logic pro x users, do your cpu overloads ever cause core audio crashes?

Yes I've had that on many OS and Logic versions, with various hardware throughout the years. Not that often, maybe once every 2-3 months. It's normally not a CPU overload but can happen on a light session. It starts with a big loud pop, and then everything goes silent and audio stops working...
