[Call for Solutions] How to Increase RAM Capacity of iMac Pro?

I guess it has to be a custom-PC then... Would you be able to recommend a good configuration? I would be using the slave to run half of my Spitfire orchestral stuff.

[Call for Solutions] How to Increase RAM Capacity of iMac Pro?

Thanks Ben, The whole concept sound really good. I guess I just need to find an affordable slave machine with lots of RAM and have the slave connected to my Thunderbolt 3 SSD dock for sample streaming. Time to start exploring Mac minis...

[Call for Solutions] How to Increase RAM Capacity of iMac Pro?

Apologies if I sound really stupid, but I am not too sure how VEP works. All I understand is that I can connect my existing iMac Pro via an ethernet cable (via a switch box) to multiple other computers running VEP to share the processing load (CPU+RAM). Not sure if the rig's portable though...

[Call for Solutions] How to Increase RAM Capacity of iMac Pro?

I did explore this option, not sure what kind of potential problems might appear after the upgrade. Just some dissonance about this. I think the 256GB RAM upgrades are only for the latest iMac Pros, I guess if I want an upgrade, 128GB would be the max. But still that's enough for me.

[Call for Solutions] How to Increase RAM Capacity of iMac Pro?

Hey everyone, Problem: Unwilling to pay $6,000 for a RAM upgrade from 64GB to 128GB on my iMac Pro. But I need more RAM for larger orchestral projects. Already switched back to Cubase from Logic so that I could use the disable-track feature to save resources. Call: So what can I do to do so...

+1 for the disable track function, saving RAM is definitely a priority for me. And it's possibly the only feature that makes me switch between Logic and Cubase...less the thrill of expression maps. But as someone pointed out, it might be an infrastructure problem which makes this feature hard to...

    Sample Library Depreciation thread

Never knew it was called TrySound... I only knew it as the 'chrome remote desktop' feature. Agreed, it could replace the experience of travelling over to a friend's to try out a library you are interested about. Maybe VI Control, as a community, can try to start one based on existing users...

    Sample Library Depreciation thread

I live in constant paranoia and anxiety that my e-licenser would one day fail me; which is why I use Logic (from Cubase) and software relying on device authorisations nowadays... I guess if NI moves to the dongle, it would create enough pressure for smaller developers to move as well?

As some people have mentioned here, I feel that bite-sized freebies could be one way to allow trial-before-purchase. Walkthroughs and reviews are not interactive and thus won't do the job. Instead, these tend to play on skill and our falsely formed perceptions of the product's potential. Or...

So many interesting perspectives here... Thinking deeper, I believe that once we made the decision to purchase something, it's akin to us accepting the product for what it was presented as; and that's where the concept of v2 upgrades come from, or as SFA managed to pull off quite well -...

Spitfire: Studio Symphony Pro Vs Symphonic Orchestra

Garritan CFX vs. Noire. Does anyone have both?

I have both. Let me get some samples up...Noire sounds darker (if we don't play around with the timbre knob) and is closer to a Steinway D than the Garritan counterpart. IMO, I think the Garritan CFX is more dynamic and musical in a sense.

How Concerned With "Realism" Are You?
