2cAudio Precedence vs. Parallax Audio VSS2

+1 use it often, I find the e.r. very clean, probably algo rather than real. This is why they blend so well with impulse responses. I don't care getting very strange instrument seating, as long as it sounds good...

    Laptop for Finale or Sibelius?

Thank you dzilizzi, this could be a good suggestion... using the Lenovo as a tablet, in portrait mode (guess that can be done) and a pen looks like a cool solution.

    Laptop for Finale or Sibelius?

Thanks Gerhard, I know that Finale isn't too heavy in terms of cpu power, I'm more concerned about the screen... Working on an orchestral score of contemporary classical music, full of symbols and often custom fonts and graphics requires a large, very hi resolution screen and really fast graphic...

    Laptop for Finale or Sibelius?

Dear fellow finale/sibelius users, can you give me advice on a good laptop configuration/model able to run Finale or Sibelius for copying and proofreading? Is it even possible? I mainly work on full orchestral scores, so a good resolution is needed, and possibly the option to plug a second...

Is the piccolo above the flute or below in score layout?

another reason why the first flute isn't usually playing the piccolo is that the embochure required by the piccolo could put at risk the purity of the flute tone...

Not music, but amazing nightingale song

this reminds me of a poem by Harold Monro, "The Nightingale near the House"... Here is the soundless cypress on the lawn: It listens, listens. Taller trees beyond Listen. The moon at the unruffled pond Stares. And you sing, you sing. That star-enchanted song falls through the air From lawn to...

    Outra vez - to Joao

no "molto espressivo" samples in the SE version unfortunately... but I might try and raise the velocities globally, in order to have mf/f samples come into play. If the sound doesn't get too aggressive... thank you Saxer!

LOL - Just bought a violin (I've never played one before)

How I understand this... I bought a violin as well years ago, with the main intent to better understand the instrument, but also to learn to at least produce a nice long note. Vibrato was the reason why after a couple of months trying I eventually gave up... there was no way I could do that...

How much do you pay attention to voicing?

There's also a more elusive aspect of voicing, which is looking at it from an eq perspective... we are actually boosting/cutting frequencies, so that's also one thing to consider. Talking about voicing here, not voice-leading

    Learning Finale

As far as I know the only new thing in 26 is auto stacking of articulations... but in 25 you can do everything, it’s not that you need external plugins. The reason why I use TGT is simply speed, as I always am on tight deadlines

Inserting labels in an audio file

Hi all, I'm in need of exporting the audio file of an orchestral piece, with labels (indexes?) corresponding to rehearsal letters, in such a way that the client can skip through the track and go to the needed positions for studying purposes.
