No, im being stubborn on not purchasing it as it gets used by everyone, making it unoriginal for me. Not saying its bad tho Thank you all for the recommandations

Music Theory - is there ever a point where you have everything in your composition under control?

I wish i had that trendy teenager voice which i could smash onto my productions and make them shine without even knowing whats going on compositionally. Sadly i dont. Is there an online application which you'd recommend for practicing ear training on a daily basis?

Music Theory - is there ever a point where you have everything in your composition under control?

Interesting. But is that really due to theory knowledge? I thought the awareness of "what works" comes with years of practical experience. As i got often told - even by people which learned music theory - that i should just go with what sounds best (as long as im not writing complex classical...

Music Theory - is there ever a point where you have everything in your composition under control?

So this is a question for all the composers here that did learn music theory for a long time (5+ years), including ear training and all that good stuff; Are your compositions still a try-and-fail sometimes or can you make faster decisions due to it (well i bet you can, but was that speed-up...

    Electric guitar chords

i still feel clueless when it comes to e guitars and i sadly didnt find much quick-learning ressources online for this. so far when i wrote pieces which include e guitar or need a bit of a "heavy" feel to it, i just used the basic powerchords (I and V) or played it in unisono. whenever i play...

How do u decide what reverb you use

I like that approach. But do you set the reverb-EQ individually on each instrument? Most producers and composers seem to have 1-3 verbs in a track, used on a send, so that would be kinda impossible to do with that workflow

Saving presets instead of having a template?

Thanks so much for sharing your workflow. Since you're in cubase i dont know how it behaves with saving patches or instrument settings, but i am in Logic and what i love about it is that you can literally save ANYTHING as a preset. You can layer different instruments together using summing...

Saving presets instead of having a template?

I start another attempt of making my life easier. I never liked templates, especially in logic because the mixer gets messy real quick. My approach now is that im saving all my orchestral sections as presets and then load them if i really need them, instead having it all in the template right...

How do u decide what reverb you use

How do you decide whether you use a bright sounding one, warm sounding one etc tho? I mean, also with pro-r (which i btw also use) you have thousands of possibilities how you set it up. Theres no right or wrong, so i simply try to collect some different approaches here on applying reverb :p

Did the internet ruin music schools and teachers?

This, but you can also do that without going to music school. Just hit up every person in real life that does music (even if its a street musician), or could have something to do with music. Go to concerts and talk to the people when they're done. get to know them. and their friends at some...
