    VEpro 7 is out

I will certainly upgrade in a few days/weeks, not just to stay up-to-date with VE but because saving-times should be faster with Kontakt (at least that's what they say). Curious how much faster it really is.

Tell me what libraries I can run on my pc.

For Brass, I'd go with Sample Modeling. Low on RAM and Disk Space. But your cpu has to handle a good reverb and it's not as playable as other libraries. But a whole orchestra?! Not feasible with 10 gigs of Ram IMO. Maybe with full ensemble patches.

What are your favourite Brass Libraries then?

It's the same as with the strings, so strings and brass line up quite well. First I was confused as well, but I've created some macros and shortcuts with the logical editor in Cubase. So I play brass and strings with my keyboard, hit one key and the legato sounds great instantly. However...

What are your favourite Brass Libraries then?

My favourite brass libraries are CSB and Sample Modeling. SM Brass sounds awesome if you put it in the right room (which can be tricky). I also have Spitfire and Cinesamples Brass, but I definitely prefer the other two. CS Descant Horn is great, though. Will check out MSB for sure, especially...

    Cinematic studio solo strings !!!

Thanks a lot, VeePo! I don't know which joystick you are using, but if it snaps back to zero, you won't hear anything, correct. Orchestral Tools has an option for that, called "niente", that you can turn off and on. Unfortunately, that's not possible with CSS, I think. I am using a breath...

    Cinematic studio solo strings !!!

I absolutely love CSS and CSSS. But it is not the heavy vibrato that annoys me, but a poor intonation during the recording. Anyone else noticing this? You could say it makes things more realistic, but sometimes, with certain velocities, the pitch is pretty off! I really hope for a future update...

Which Felt Piano should I get?!

I use the Una Corda from time to time and like it. But the Noir looks great indeed and I might get that one in the future as well.

    Synchron Strings

Maybe you are right. I have a LOT of VSL libraries including dimension strings/brass and think they are still awesome in terms of details and the number of articulations (e.g. compared to Cinematic Studio Strings). But nowadays I just prefer a slightly better playability and (in my case) a great...

    Synchron Strings

I've received the vsl newsletter yesterday, went to their homepage and listened to the Cantabile Violins. Well,....I 'm sorry, I've started out with VSL back in 2008, and their samples might be one reason, why I do what I do today, but those Cantabile demos sound absolutely out-dated, I agree...

Less than perfect solo strings/quartet libraries

Thanks! Well, for the final version, I added a tiny little bit of reverb to the whole section. I prefer a nice, dry sound for this personal project. I did not use any EQ for the single instruments (yet). But a Master EQ in the Master Output. That's pretty much it.

Less than perfect solo strings/quartet libraries

I am currently working on an album and uploaded one of the tracks to youtube. It exclusively features Cinematic Studio Solo Strings, in this case, out-of-the-box. I am pretty happy with the library. Give it a try.
