    Audiobro Modern Scoring Brass (MSB)

Were you using indivudual tracks for all the instruments or did you use the combined tracks?

    Audiobro Modern Scoring Brass (MSB)

Dry libraries tend to need more mixing to make them sound good. Also, Cinematic studio products is known for its out of the box ready sound.

    Audiobro Modern Scoring Brass (MSB)

Bought and as usual download managers suck. My installation got stuck, and now I can't resume my download without requesting a reinstall through mail. Absolutely ridiculous. Update: Posted on their forum, and got a really quick reply. I can now retry the download. :emoji_thumbsup:

Digital piano for practicing classical piano

I think they might have the P-515 at the local shop. How would you compare it against the VPC1/mp11?

Digital piano for practicing classical piano

The casio gp look really interesting, with real hammer mechanics and all (unfortunatley it is too big for me). But I should have been more specific. I need a stage sized piano, as I don't have space for an acoustic. If I had the space, I would have just bought an upright. So far, the kawai VPC1...

Digital piano for practicing classical piano

Anyone know some high end models that feel as close to playing a real piano as possible? Tried to google things like "best digital piano", but end up only budget digital pianos for 400-500 dollars (Which is comparable to what I already have). The most important thing for me is that it fits well...

If you have heard what Vsl solo voices sound like, then maybe something similiar to that. Regardless, I think Ethera sounded stunning.

    Solo Voices

As talks of choirs is the latest big deal. I have found myself wanting some solo voices in a choir setting. Although it doesn't seem to be easy to find. What do people on here use?

    Eric Whitacre Choir

I think they are both very high end choirs. If you want syllables, then insolidus is the way to go. What you are paying for with Eric Whitacre choir, is the sound of Eric Whitacre, which is very beautiful and unique imo.

    Eric Whitacre Choir

I just wish it had phrases. The textures are beautiful however. Just what I would expect of a Whitacre library

    Problem with Casio Privia 160

Really? But that would make it completely useless as a midi keyboard -.-

    Problem with Casio Privia 160

Tried using it as a midi controller, but it won't trigger velocities over around 109. No matter how hard I hit the keys. Anyone that might have an idea what the problem is?

New laptop for use with sibelius

Is it just that you dont find the touch integration a viable option or? Now I am just trying to decide to get either the book or pro. Kinda leaning towards the book, but it has only 3 hours of battery life when in tablet mode. While the pro has 10 hours. Although the book has 17 hours in laptop...

New laptop for use with sibelius

Thinking of getting a new laptop. Mostly for school. Is 8 GB of ram and an i7 processor enough for using it with large sibelius projects? Going to use noteperformer 3 sounds.

Hey, wanted to answer because I have been in the exact position you have. Getting your profiency in PLAYING the piano at first is the key to success. If you are looking for music to play. I can't reccommend this book enough...

    Learning structure in orchestral/classical composition

Thanks for your comment :D I hade to read it twice so I could imagine you waving your hands around when I read it the second time. I always compose some music here and there. But they never get particularly long or interesting. I will try your approach, and compose longer even if it sucks...

    Learning structure in orchestral/classical composition

Sometimes the "simple" answers are the best it seems. When transcribing, you write out lines for all instruments, or is it common to just make a reduction when instruments double each other? Also, do you know of any websites where I can purchase full scores? I previously have searched for...

    Learning structure in orchestral/classical composition

Hey, I have for a while now, been trying to learn how to compose for orchestra. I have read books on orchestration and music theory. I feel like I know how to utilize ranges of instruments in the orchestra and so on, but I think my compositional skills are lacking. I can compose a short piece of...

    2C Audio B2 or Perfect Storm 3.0

I ended up buying all of them. I love B2 so far, such a great sounding reverb. I don't think I'll need another algorithmic reverb for a long while.

    2C Audio B2 or Perfect Storm 3.0

2C audio has a sale, and thinking of getting their reverb. Any point having B2, Aether and Breeze 2.0 or will just the B2 be more than enough?

    Hybrid Orchestra

Hi, thanks for all the replies. I already have pretty expensive sample libraries from spitfire, Orchestral tools etc. Although none of the libraries like Albion, metropolis or any kind of epic library. It seems to me that starting by learning synthesis is what I have to do. I have previously...

    Hybrid Orchestra

Music like this somewhat what I want to make. I don't have any kind of synths at all. I was wondering if people put all kinds of effects on string/brass sounds themselves and created their own sound, or if people used sample libraries for that. I am pretty noob at all this. Any software synths...

    Hybrid Orchestra

How do you guys go about creating hybrid music? Do you use dedicated libraries or create those sounds yourself? I have been interested in making some music that isn't strictly orchestral, but have no idea where to begin.

Questions about composer ear training: diatonic

Well, I don't think it would be inaccurate to describe myself as autodidactic (angst and stress too xD). I pretty much taught myself music theory through books and a few things online here and there, but I never went to any class or anything. I learnt japanese by myself etc. I guess I just find...

    Komplete 10

Thanks for your clarification :D. I only really care about kontakt 5 lol
  33. P

    Komplete 10

It is a legit store, it indeed seems to be extra stock that didn't sell. So if I am not misunderstanding you, I could not just buy this and use it as komplete 10, I would have to immediately upgrade to 11?

Questions about composer ear training: diatonic

Ok, I'll try that out. How much would you recommend doing ear training each day? If anyone who have taken the course has anything to contribute, then I would still be curious to hear how the experience was.
  35. P

    Komplete 10

Hey, found a store where they are selling komplete 10 at a low price. Are the licences still valid even after the release of komplete 11? Will I be able to update to the latest version of kontakt 5?

Questions about composer ear training: diatonic

I have no ear training what so ever. I have been through some theory, harmony and know interval names and so on. But never really got good at identifying chords or intervals by ear. Is this a course that could help me achieve this, or should I have a better trained ear before taking a course...

So, if not Eric Whitacre library, wait or go for Dominus?

8dio Insolidus sound great as well. I am not usually into 8dio libraries, but Insolidus managed to impress. It came out last year, and seems to be a bit more flexible than Dominus. Only negative is that is doesn't seem to have a nice word builder that Dominus has, but it has a lot of phrases...

    Berlin Woodwinds or Spitfire

That is kind of what makes me hesitate with the spitfire woodwinds. What library did you decide to get for solo instruments?
  42. P

    Berlin Woodwinds or Spitfire

In search of a good woodwind library. Very tempted by the new berlin woodwind revive, and the fact that is has a has multiple solo instruments. On the other hand I use mainly spitfire stuff, and afraid that mixing it will be difficult. What should I do? :S
