Hi

As the thread title would suggest i'm looking for really light, interesting beats with a half time type feel in this kind of style

From about 2:08.

I have read interviews with him and he mentions briefly his process for making them but i was looking to get there a little quicker. I haven't been able find anything in this vein amongst my current VI/sample collection.

Any suggestions much appreciated !

Thanks very much

I think the Unfinished's Drumstruck series may have similar stuff to that. Also that particular drum pattern sounds like a typical Trap beat at half tempo. Could also maybe use the patterns from something like Trapped in Love by Julez JAdon and replace the drums with more organic ones.

Not hearing anything all that particular about this drum track. Round/muted kick. The hi hats sound like they've been pitched down, almost like a shaker. The most interesting/unique part is that heavily processed snare. One library that comes to mind that you may wanna check out is the Klusterkitt stuff - there's some interesting convolutions that you can apply to the kit elements.

Not hard to get there with pitching and filtering and reverb. Hard to find samples which will get you there instantly because they already have that processing pre-baked. Probably don't need a super-deep-sampled drum kit, though you will need something that's not just bashed hard, has at least the basic four round robins, and has a wide tuning range built in.

I'd look at That Sound's Sterloid and Organic Percussion, though you might need to load each kit piece into a separate instrument to tune and process it, it won't be so bad with these kinds of fairly simple beats. You can also take a look at my own Frankensnare library for organic snare weirdness.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I am being a tad lazy about it. I think what I’m really after is Heavocity doing a ‘Barely There’ drum lib but in the mean time i’ll Try and roll a few of my own.

Thanks again

Dan
