Looking for a guitarist to record a bunch of parts for me/calling Johnny Marr

quickbrownf0x

I had fun once. It was awful.
Hey guys,

I'm busy working on an arrangement of HZ's Inception, BUT my virtual guitars, I found, sound like sh*t, no matter how much I mess around with them, so I figured why not ask if anyone's up for a collaboration? The whole cue is about 14 minutes long, but I think the guitar parts are maybe a third of that length. I've counted a total of 100+ bars, most it being loops, really. Some of the bits need doubling.

No need to do this for free, obviously. Just let me know if anyone's up for it, how much this would cost. Just don't tell my wife.

Here's a good reference;

Cheers!

I will look forward to hearing this DJ!

you are looking for a guitarist for a track with basically no guitar at all? Those first 20 seconds are just a simple arpeggio with a clean sound, and you can do it simply with a vst guitar, clean sound and add a nice reverb. Which guitar vst have you got?

Yup, I know - it's not Stairway to Heaven. The reference track is just an indication, but I need a whole bunch of bars similar to that. I've used Ample Guitar TC and Shreddage 3 Stratus so far and it just sounds.... pffff. But you may be right and it could very well be that my MIDI programming chops aren't what they should be for guitar, but I'm at the point of just saying 'instead of messing about, why not just record them in and move on?'. :whistling:

Yes for complex parts is better to have a guitarist, especially for lead distorted tube amps. But for simple arpeggio with a lot of reverb you can get away with a vst. Try this:

Hey, this is cool, thanks. Will definitely look into it. Totally forgot about Orange Tree. I'm still thinking of having the tracks recorded in, though, just to flex those muscles again. Work with others, toss some stems over, etc. It's a good exercise and a perfect excuse to have some fun, right?

I'm actually thinking of posting the stems, MIDI, full project and so on here once I'm done, so others can have a look and maybe come up with a way better mix than mine.

@quickbrownf0x would be interested to collaborate on this one as well (Huge HZ fan!). I'm a guitarist and have a pretty killer recording gear:

- Fractal AXE Fx III
- Music Man JP Monarchy Majesty w Piezo
- Gibson Les Paul HP II
- Fender Stratocaster American Elite

PM if interested ;)

Best,
J.T.

Jesus, thanks guys. Looks like I got a few people interested, that's amazing. I'll get back to everybody after my work deadline today. Work before play, I'm afraid.

Would also like to offer, but looks like you’ve got it covered!

Unless…. 99 piece guitarchestra? 🤘😈

I can also help you with guitars, it would be really interesting for me. I've got Kemper and nice collection of different guitars, I also like to think that my chops aren't bad either. Here are some of my pretty old guitar tracks in different styles (now my sound is much better):
