Maleventum - War Horns - DEAL EXTENDED:33% Off + 50% Off other libraries

I hope you reconsider your pricing. $39 vs. 39 EUR+VAT? That's currently roughly 32,50 EUR to 47 EUR or $39 to $57 for EU citizens. 1:1 conversion plus VAT can't be the way at the current exchange rates. So please lower the EUR prices. I don't try to get the $ prices up :emoji_sweat_smile:.

Or do I? :emoji_owl:

Hi, thanks for your comment. We use a third party e-commerce (Fast spring) which is based in US (we're based in Italy), the VAT is automatically applied by Fastspring according to the country you're based. If you have a VAT number you can ask FS to subtract it from your order.

I know, but I guess your average customer isn't able to do that. And thus some will just pay in $ without paying the VAT. Or don't purchase at all. I hope you are technically able in your shop to compensate for the current exchange rate between EUR and $ which is beyond 1:1,2 currently. This won't be this extreme next year, I guess, but at the moment it is a little much.

Your products deserve all the support they can get 👍

Hello everyone! We've extended the deal until January 31st. Several customers asked us if we could hold on of a bit with the promos, so there you go :)
Have a great weekend

QUESTION:
Finalising our new sample library and I have a question: it will be a new Maleventum chapter, this time based on flutes and whistles from original Aztec and pre-Columbian age. It's literally unique instruments, as they've been handcrafted by this group of guys called Nomada Ceramica (Argentina), who do this deep ethnomusicological research and build the instruments from the ground up. Now, there's a large amount of source recordings, based on which I built the designed sounds, similarly to what I did with the war horns in Maleventum 1. Would you prefer to have this massive stack of unprocessed samples as it is, with the freedom to go through them and pick the sounds when you need? Or do you think it's better to do a light selection of what I think are the most relevant ones? I ask as it's many GB of material, not sure what's your preference in this regard. Feel free to suggest!
😃

QUESTION:
BTW I enjoy Maleventum - great library. Regarding the question: Lots of options are always nice, but having a curated and streamlined selection is faster. I would reach for it more often if I knew I have a chance of finding something useful quickly therefore I'd rather have less but real quality instruments that are playable, flexible (good amount of dynamic layers and RRs etc) and give me instant magic.

Thanks a lot for your feedback guys, yes I think I'll be more surgical in the selection of the original samples and make sure that they can be relevant and consistent with the general idea of this new chapter.

Just grabbed this but WinRar and 7zip keep saying the Flutes archive is corrupt. It seems to keep extracting it and I can use it but the presets don't show up in the instrument.

I've tried extracting it from my desktop like the help txt says, and I've tried re-downloading it a couple times.

Is this just a bogus error?

Hi,
Thanks for your purchase.
Do you mean you can open the Horns & Flutes instruments but can't upload the snapshots?

The snapshots are missing from the kontakt drop down but the source files do show up

Ooh I just found the MALEVENTUM Snapshots (COPY TO KONTAKT DIRECTORY) and will try that :) woops

Hi, no problem :) In case you still have problems in loading the snapshots, I'd recommend following this very short tutorial that will permanently solve the problem

I really wish Maleventum had included realistic playable melodic instruments and/or melodic loops in addition to the processed pad sounds. The pads in many cases end up sounding too much like generic synth pads, or contain too many disparate layers to easily fit into a composition without extensive and generally messy processing (each of the two "flute" options seems to have a higher-pitched flute sound I like combined with the added layer of a noisy low-pitched oscillating sound baked into the sample, and a simple high pass filter is not enough to get rid of that with without degrading the sound quality of the flute).

Hi there, thanks for your feedback. I understand your point, the overall focus of this chapter of Maleventum is not on realistic playable instruments, but a collection of sounds that sets the mood on an 'arcane' kind of atmosphere. The pads part is mostly thought for underscore and texture, rather than well defined playable phrases. However, Maleventum is supposed to be a series of releases, each one with a different target in terms of sounds and playability: the next one will be more centred on playable instruments and phrases, with specific focus on ancient flutes and whistles. There'll be some legato flute instruments , phrases and sound fx, here's a small preview of Tlapitzali, an old Incas flute sampled from an original mesoamerican instrument: .

I also picked up Pain Piano and had a question about that:

When I'm playing the tonal individual hits, when I press play in the DAW the hits aren't playing in time to where the MIDI has them. E.g. if the MIDI notes are all hitting exactly on the beat, the sounds don't come out in time on the beat (sometimes). I have no idea why this is happening but it's quite frustrating. Do you know why this is?
