Maleventum - War Horns - DEAL EXTENDED:33% Off + 50% Off other libraries

Just got it, I think it is truly amazing...
The only thing I would have liked, and I didn't manage, is to be able to strip the sound design aspect a bit in order to get to the more raw sound, but I don't seem to find the way, if there is one? Also I find my self always disabling the low kick boom which comes on on default on each note... It sounds great, but becomes a bit too much in context (for my use). In a more natural orchestral score use it could be great to be able to control the balance between raw horns and FX.
Really well done, the sounds are excellent and inspiring, very bene-ventum! :)

If I wake up Monday morning and find out I’ve run out of coffee, this is how I feel!

This! After fiddling around 5 minutes with the library, I also feel that there would be a tremendous value if the raw sounds were also included in the package. Even though the sound design is really well and stylishly done, I still feel I could utilize the raw sounds even more, and I think many other people would like this option as well as an possible update.

EDIT: Fiddling a bit more, I found that the boost- button is actually a great option towards the "less processing"- approach. So in some sounds where that's applied, switch it off and you'll get a bit more natural sound if that helps! Yet still I'd love to see the raw sounds also as an option. :P

Definitely do agree... Hell I'd even pay a small amount for an 'upgrade'. For trailer work it's all about simplicity... More often than not a single sample carefully crafted with some sound design tends to stand out and layer better as a signature vs pre-layered and detuned samples... Basically this is great as is for film score work, for horror textures, etc.. (and is still 100% relevant for trailer work...) but for those of us that want to roll up our sleeves and really design stuff from the raw materials it would be a huge plus... So much so I personally wouldn't flinch at paying a small fee if considered...

That said I'm not knocking this library at all!!!! In a market saturated with a 100 versions of everything this one's genuinely unique... It's awesome as is and a steal at the current price...

Yep, and for game/band stuff it's even more about that! I'm a huge fanatic of everything fantasy/medieval (and probably the biggest WoW nerd on this forum, haha!) and there's a LOT of times I've been struggling to create some war horns earlier from trumpets and even a broken bicycle horns. Not to even mention those higher pitched squeals universally referred as "zul gurubs" within my circle of friends- I think it's a shawm or some other weird squealing pig bladder from the depths of a Vietnamese jungle etc. but holy hell it's impossible to create from organic instruments without knowing the original source. A bit off- topic, but here's a sample:

Nowadays I have a lot of samples but they usually lack that organic and natural pitch fluctuation and things that make them RAW. And that's why I'd be especially interested on the rawer side of things!

Btw, fooled around with the "Horns&Flutes PADS" and by Gahz'rilla, those are so good. Instant immersiveness and exatly what I love!!!!

When you guys say you can't edit the raw sound, you're not talking about the reverb and delays are you? I figured there were added via the effects?

I'll second (or third?) this. The sound design is great and there are some really awesome and unique sounds included. But they also have a lot of baked in reverb. There are times I find myself wanting to be able to dial that back.
