Howdy all,

I'm a composer (not by profession, but it's what I spend most of my spare time doing), and I have been struggling to get my music sounding to the quality that I want.

To be specific, I am trying to write some pieces of music to go towards a vertical slice I'm making for a future video game project. I also am trying to cover the visual assets, which will be 2D and 3D, so I've got a lot on my plate.

I think music is really, really important in building a property's personality, so I'd love to be able to get my music to a satisfactory standard. I've been composing since 2015, and to be honest I'm probably not a conventional/natural born musician. I'm out of depth on a lot of things.

In the past I've gotten so frustrated with what I'm working on because I find it very hard to get past hiccups in the mixing, and probably composition stage. I know that composing, mixing and mastering are all entirely different fields of dedication, so I'm not asking for somebody who can necessarily wear all those hats.

I'm willing to pay by any arrangement for anybody who is confident in any of those specialties and would be willing to walk me through what I'm doing wrong and work with me in mixing/mastering my music.

If you're interested, hit me up a PM and tell me a bit about yourself, what sort of work you've done, and what your rates would be. I can't promise that this would be a very profitable job or lead to bigger opportunities. For the record, I do definitely try and take notes from tutorials, recreations and so on, but I'm at the stage that I need another set of captive ears to pick apart what I'm making, and I'm totally willing to pay for that!

Cheers.

I'm a formally trained composer and electronic musician (Berklee, 1989). I write, perform and engineer all my work. Here's a link to my catalog to review my abilities. Let me know if this is a good fit. There is a range of styles represented among these selections that span approx 30yrs. https://shawnedonahoo.bandcamp.com/

hey Shawn-
I've been at this biz for 25+ years in scoring, arranging, recording, MIDI editing and master audio for film and broadcast. Shoot me an email and maybe we can collaborate.
