March of the Automatons - VI highlights

Hi all,

I released a new soundtrack based on the 3rd book in the Newbury & Hobbes steampunk mystery series by UK author George Mann, and thought I'd share some tracks from the album here periodically and mention some of the virtual instruments I used.

This track is called "March of the Automatons" - It's a scene that takes place before and during a final siege by an army of automatons and people riding mechanical horses.

I based this work on a composition I wrote for solo harpsichord a long time ago (around 2001). The original idea was more of a dirge inspired by the mindless day job I had at the time. lol Years passed and I never made any definitive recording of it. Then when this opportunity came along to create a dirge-like march based on these Victorian era, weird mechanical beasts, I felt that this piece would fit in well.

Some virtual instruments used include: Motor Rhythms by Soundiron, Watchmaker by SonoKinetic, the French Harpsichord by RealSamples, Albion One, Metropolitan Ark 2 (low strings), Spitfire Symphonic Strings, Xperimenta Psaltery, Kangling Bone Flute by Strix Instruments, Perc+ (old free percussion library I got a long time ago), Spitfire Percussion, HZ Percussion, Morin Khuur from Jade Ethnic Orchestra, Spitfire Masse... That's not all, but those are some highlights.

Hope you like it!

These tracks are so much fun. Very nicely done.
Thanks ism! I just realized I should have posted this in member compositions...! Oh well. Since it's here, I added a little history about where the original piece came from. :)
