I was recommended to join from someone at Gearslutz. I have a (dedicated) project studio for which myself and Mrs Jazz are going to be doing scores for big band recording (jazz styles as well as pop/rock). I'm fairly new to recording and will welcome any pointers to places where I can particularly learn about scoring multiple parts, how to handle multiple samplers instruments (I've just bought Native Instruments Komplete 12 with Session Horns Pro). I use an iMAC with Logic Pro X. I'm in the UK, and just hope there'll be an opportunity to once again hear or perform our arrangements live...

If I'm understanding correctly, you're from a "traditional" scoring background, arranging for big band?... and you'd like to render audio of your arrangements virtually, whilst real world ensembles are decimated by lockdown? ( i just typed lickdown by mistake... nice... )

In which case, I suspect that Noteperformer might be just the sort of thing you are looking for.... www.noteperformer.com

I would hate to discourage anyone from learning a new skill, but I do suspect you would be a good fit for the noteperformer technology.

Thanks Chris, yes I'm partly traditional background, Mrs J is a far better reader and has the background in big band, I do the 'techie' stuff (although I'm not that techie really). I started singing rock in the 70sand ended up running a corporate entertainment outfit in the 90s and noughties (a familiar curve for many I bet).

Thanks for the heads-up on Noteperformer, I'd not heard of it but I've been a very out of touch for years. Much obliged.
