Oh man! Growing up one of the two local music stores was a Hagstrom dealer. It just so happened that our trombone/keyboard player we the son of the owner of said store. I played their "floor model" every visit. And I very nearly bought it, and I kind of wish I had, it was a wonderful instrument.
Literally weeks before I was to purchase the Hagstrom I was at a fair and chatting with the guitar played in the band that played that day. He was moving to Texas, and giving up electric guitar for a bit - would I be interested in purchasing his 68 Goldtop with P-90s? Yeah, I was interested. Didn't even have my driver's license yet, which worked out well, when the Mom arrived to pick up me and my friends I asked her if she could write a check<G>! She did. I think it was the name Les Paul, because my folks were fans. Anyway, that guitar trumped the Swede, I played it for three years before it was stolen.
