What's new

Sonuscore's "The Orchestra Complete" and new "Strings of Winter" library

‚Next Level‘ - what can it be? I guess new articulations or instruments? Maybe finally they manage to somehow enable midi files!

I’d really hope they’re incorporating midi export/drag per slot out of the engine. And I’d also hope for more slots and/or options for those slots. ie choice of sustain or arp for any slot.

And as @ScoreFace said above looking at what little material is in that teaser I’d expect some more instruments and articulation choices.

I'm not sure they would drop something to half price just to bring out a free update. I'm enjoying (and learning from) The Orchestra and would be happy to purchase an update (HD space permitting) but I'm slightly nervous that they brought the price down because they knew something was coming that would make it obsolete.

One would hope that with the extra raised from the sale it would be a free update.

Best Service says that Sonuscore is bringing The Orchestra "to the next level" on June 19th.

I hope it will be a free update, but I bet that it will cost $$$. More likely that they wanted to build up their client base with the half price sale.

I wrote a few posts before this on this thread about what might be included.

Anybody else care to speculate?

I'd be happy to split the difference between free and costly, and be offered the update for something like 20 per cent of full price. Whether I'd pay that much would depend on what's in the update.

I don't think it's possible they will make it obsolete, because it's fine as it is. But I believe they will expand it into something that is more like Amadeus with an arp engine. They'll get all the main instruments, including solo ones, plus more articulations. That will make it more appealing for future customers. It could become the ideal first library for many. It isn't quite there today, without having solo instruments. That's what I believe they mean by taking it "to the next level."

Most of us already have other orchestral libraries, so if that's the crux of the update, then it might not matter as much to us.

But if I'm right, I'm figuring that all those new instruments will mean a lot more presets. I will find that hard to resist, so I hope it doesn't cost much.

But who knows? As @SoNowWhat? said, they could also improve the engine. We'll find out soon.

For me I wouldn't be too bothered about solo instruments. More presets would be ok. I'd LOVE to get midi export on the arps though.

from what i remember the main issue most people had was the lack of mic positions. so maybe its that?
from the images , maybe its more older type of instruments?

Interesting thought
There is an artisanal feeling to the images.

When I saw that wood ornament in the video, for some reason I can't explain I thought it might be an old piano. After all, there are no keyboards in The Orchestra. If you're going to the next level, you might want to have a piano. If they added a piano, that would offer some great options for presets.
