Oooo tempted. Still in two minds about Modern Scoring Brass. Probably not much point getting this if i get that though.

The demos for this sound incredible , i have to say. Obviously it is fairly limited in what it does though so im not sure.

Modern Scoring Brass seems to me like a totally different beast. Different section sizes, divisi, more sections, a hell of a lot more articulations etc.

I am very tempted by this as i don't really have any dedicated brass libraries.

I remember something about it being very CPU heavy in Logic, but i might be thinking of performance samples' brass. Anybody got any experience?

Oh absolutely. It is also 6 times the price and user reviews seem mixed. I dont want to spend $600 and find that i don't like it.

Yes, Adventure Brass (and Adventure Strings) in my experience are CPU heavy in Logic using Kontakt 5. I haven't used them recently, but I believe running Vienna Ensemble Pro helps. A couple people suggested that Kontakt 6 gets better performance, but it's not clear to me if that's actually true.

I see them as largely two different animals. Adventure Brass is a specialist, and I will likely be picking this up during this sale because what it specializes in, it looks to do very well. I have MSB, and it is a much broader tool than Adventure Brass. I think I could probably get close to what I'm hearing with Adventure Brass with MSB, but it's worth it to me to drop another $100 for the ease not not having to work hard to do so, when I really want that particular sound or ability. My $.02, anyway.

I haven't tried Adventure Brass nor Modern Scoring Brass. While I think that if you're looking for a diverse and flexible brass library, you'd be hard pressed to find a better option than Modern Scoring Brass, I also imagine that Adventure Brass would be more instantly playable out of the box—at least for its specific style and instrumentation.

I hate to be one of those "get them both" people, but I think the two libraries would compliment each other nicely. (Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.)

Edit: I see that Mucusman basically said the same thing above. I'm really off my game today. I think I'd better catch up on some sleep...

Best,

Geoff

It's true... in Kontakt 6 no CPU spikes any more. I use it without VEPro since Kontakt 6.
