What's new

Here's how I would write the final music of 'Game of Thrones'.

Excited for my first production with 'Spitfire Hans Zimmer Strings', I decided to produce what for me could be the final music of the 'Game of Thrones' saga.

Used libraries:
- Spitfire Hans Zimmer Strings
- Spitfire British Drama Toolkit
- Spitfire Solo Strings
- Forzo (Brass)
- EastWest Hollywood Woodwinds and Percussion / StormDrum
- EastWest Bösendorfer 290 Piano
- In Session Audio - Taiko Creator

Thank you for listening.

Really enjoyed listening to your piece. I had considered Forzo during the NI sale but opted to give it a miss this time round, although it does sound very good.

Thank you, Levon.

In this production the brasses certainly have a marginal role, but the way they work together with Hans Zimmer Strings is fabulous. There is a secondary melodic line of the horns, the trumpets which in the final reinforce the strings in the main melody and always at the end, the tuba that strengthens the bass, but the thing that I liked most is the trombone rendering (both the sections, contra and tenor trombones) in strengthening the violas ostinato. Although the legato is missing and there is a bit of work to use in the best way this library, FORZO has become my main brass library for cinematic.

This is great, I love the sense in the strings, though I don't quit know how to describe it. The a kind of weight, a grandeur maybe (?) without, at least at first, the heaviness of the epic-as-usual (which I can get enough of very easily). Very nice.

Thank you, Ism.
I'm not sure to understand the (?)... did you mean to ask me if the plan used is the grandeur? In that case, no, this is the Bösendorfer 290 Eastwest (I had forgotten to include it on the list)

I just meant I'm looking for the words to describe the effect that you're created in the music. So kind of vague, but of course if it was something I could capture it perfectly in words, you wouldn't need to write music to express it :)

We are only in May, and I can say that this was the most challenging year of my life, fortunately in positive, but between work and personal life, I really had to give all myself ...
and perhaps this passage is a summary of my journey :)
I started from the cello, which is the instrument that most describes me at this moment: intense, strong but delicate at the same time, and was an inspiration for the development of the entire composition.
It is true, it is difficult to explain (and as you said, you should not even do it :)) what is behind a composition, but I can at least tell what I was inspired by: myself, the true heroine of my life ♥

Cool. I've actually never seen game of thrones, but your composition here has a quality that goes somehow beyond the usual thonking bombast of the kind "epic" style that I (fairly or unfaily) associate with it, so I was trying to find a way to say that.

Strong, intense but delicate is a good way to say (And it captures some of what I love the cello in general).
