Spitfire Spring Wish List Announced ;)

So the 2018 Professional bundle has been reduced to £580 (65% discount). It contains Studio Strings Pro, HZ Strings, Solo Strings and British Drama Toolkit. That’s bringing Studio Strings Pro in at £157 and HZ Strings in at £244. There has been mixed reviews about all 3 string libraries on here but at this huge discounted price it’s hard to pass up! What are people’s thoughts? If these had been the original prices when they were first reviewed would people have given them such mixed reviews?

Just a heads up - it's a holiday today here in the UK, so any support you get from Spitfire means that someone missed out on a BBQ. ;)
Thanks Alex! Yes it's true, there's a few guys that are working on a public holiday and one in the US, so you should be able to get someone on chat all day. That said, it's EXTREMELY busy, so please be patient if you're in a queue. Ben

I am currently debating whether to go for the studio orchestra or to go for the symphonic orchestra (I already have SCS). Given that I only do music for my own pleasure, the studio orchestra seems like the more responsible (relatively speaking) option, but there is just something so enticing about the sound of the symphonic range. Does anyone here own both? Is the symphonic range so much better than the studio range to motivate the difference in price?

OK. So I´m going for the percussion, as I till date have not really found anything that answer my need for a traditional orchestral percussion lib. Any thoughts on the Spitfire Percussion?

Juuust about through downloading SStWW, had it going all night.

The SA manager is easy enough on my system so I can work on my large woodwind choir as I wait (in the original plan for the composition I wanted to write a simple wind quintet, but I just kept finding the need for more winds...plus, Bernard's vibraphone kept popping up ;).
Did you get the Pro version or the Core version?

I only have EastWest Woodwinds Diamond and wanted a Kontakt one so I have one for each platform
A number people agree that EW dropped the ball on the Woodwinds and it was not to the standard of the other two :/

I am not sure what to get though. Ideally I would be waiting for 8DIO to bring Century Woodwinds as I have Strings BUNDLE and want the Brass BUNDLE next time it is on sale
Also have CineBrass BUNDLE

But as for the Spitfire ones, which would be best all round for a Woodwinds match to EW HWW?

I own and really like EWHWWs, but there are certain instruments/patches there I can't vouch for (and never use). Overall I use the Hein more.

I picked up Professional, mostly because I just plain like the sound (on the whole markedly better than EWHWWs). From what I do know about SStWWs, the sound has got a really crisp, cut-right-through-the-mix sound (I think somebody used the word "glassy") that resolutely separates it from the EW and Hein (though the latter can be keening in both a good and idiosyncratic way).

I must also mention how well SStWWs seems to mix with other dry libraries like BHCT, Hein, and EWH. It's practically perfect with those (especially when I slap a little Pro-R on the bus).

It's a stone cold winner imo (SStWWs)...though even there are instruments that aren't exactly mind-blowing (the oboe and bassoon don't thrill me, but I can just use the Hein for those).

Wait, get it? Mind-blowing? Woodwinds? BWA!

So you would not go for the SSWW?
HA! I have BHCT and Pro-R and EWH, but not Hein, so reading what you have put I could get a very good experience from these :)

I went for the Pro Bundle (owned BDT, Solo and Studio core). So the extra mics and divisi will add to a library I already loved using.
HZ Strings for £200... be rude not to. Can't wait!

Debating the same

Debating the same

Both will be good. But both different in their application.
Think of it this way. What will I produce in the next week, month. Does this product help/enhance/add dimension?
Otherwise, you are just buying space on an SSD. Nice space granted.

Get what you are lacking for current and nearing compositions, not what looks like a good deal. There's ALWAYS another :)
