Steinberg NUENDO sale up to 70% off

How are you all liking Nuendo 10 so far? As a Cubase 10 user who cross-graded over to Nuendo 10, I'm glad Nuendo 10 has caught up with Cubase now. I hope Nuendo in the future starts including some useful features in Music Production ahead of Cubase instead of behind it but that is just me. In general, Cubase/Nuendo is incredible to use.

What features are you missing in Nuendo 10 that Cubase 10 had? I find the flow identical...even the extra content is included in Nuendo 10. Nothing missing.

I did note that the release version is the same as Cubase. This makes me think that they are now in sync and we can expect maintenance releases close together. The only aspects differing Nuendo will be the game/video things which will likely come with a .x version update (10.1, 10.2, etc) while Cubase may continue to jump at .5 intervals with updates. But that is speculation based on their past pattern.

one item for now small thing , but liked it for the flow , when you duplucate clips , you hover over the end of the clip the small box appears in the middle select drag and drop, but in nuendo you need to in may case in MAC OS i need to hold alt key and mouse to see the box, again not a big deal but not the same , there was a few more things just cant remember (this is when i was looking for differences ) reading on steinberg forum someone mentioned that the color with the CC is not the same as cubase ,
making it difficult to see
another issue from another person
Setting the Project Cursor Position like Cubase (ALT-SHIFT+CLICK)
scrub audio not working
so you see , as i mentioned wonder why all was not ported over

Just looking at the comparison.
Says Cubase max out at 5.1 surround, but Nuendo can do 22.2.

Would that be 22.2 true surround (if there is such a thing) or does that just mean it can do 22 discrete output channels?

22.2 is a real surround format. Friend of mine did his PhD dissertation on recording for 22.2.
It's 3D (has a vertical axis) and is probably most often used in experimental purpose-built facilities like NHK, and/or when used with object-oriented mix tools like Atmos.

Is there an audio interface that can do that? Im assuming to do 22.2 properly you would need an audio interface that had 22 output plugs??

this whole surround hype is a HOAX. In reality it does'nt exist. Carefully reverse engineer what Hollywood is mixing onto their BlueRay Discs. 90% of the content exist in the centerchannel, the rest is soundefx and music spreaded onto L R and SR and SL.
Just watch Junkie XXL on his YT Videos. He mixes into QUAD setup! = 4 channels L+R and SL+SR
Maybe some Games might use extra channels for the up down direction. But guess how many ppl will have a 8.2 channel + Setup at their homes to realize something "3-dimensional"

24, actually... don't forget the .2!
Normally studios who are actually doing this sort of thing would just be outputting a bunch of AES streams to independent DACs. Not using a USB interface.

Yes it does, but it's not going to end up in homes. The use-cases are specialized listening facilities (like NHK), live performance spaces for new music with a sound design element, movie theatres, and maybe cars (as weird as that sounds... they're working on it).
Junkie XXL is probably not recording live orchestras in 22.2 surround.

So back to nuendo deals - anyone know of the next nuendo sale? Maybe a "back to school" sale in August/September?

It is priced at its lowest point. My understanding is that it will remain at the current price point until the next release when anything can happen (possibly back up to its normal range?).

Back up to its normal range? I haven't been paying attention to Nuendo before but as i'm doing game audio in the fall, i'm tempted for the integration with Wwise. What is the normal range? And why do you think it won't stay at the current price - it doesn't look like a sale or anything. I also read that the development will be much closer with Cubase, and maybe also cheaper that way?
