can requiem light be used with cc11 for volume? so far I am forced to use cc7, which in my workflow I have avoided so far, and I'd rather not use more cc lanes if I won't have to. user man. did not indicate cc11 as applicable for volume.

in my view RL sounds far better then OE which I had in the past.
You can map swell to CC11 (or CC1, which is what I will do) to control dynamic layer (swell is assigned to CC71 by default; xfade is assigned to CC72 by default.) You can also map CC11 to volume: either the volume slider in the main window (mapped to CC7 by default but only tops out at 0), or, if you have the full version of Kontakt, go into the wrench and map to volume there.
simplest thing is to assign CC11 to the volume slider on the top right. It won't be a problem so long as you are not also using CC7.

@jbuhler is correct and took the words right out of my mouth.
Just right click on either the Swell knob or the Kontakt master fader in the top right hand corner and move cc11 to assign it. Then when you exit out of the .nki and it asks if you want to save changes, click yes.

Depending on how in-depth you want to go, you can limit the range of the master volume fader. Some users will assign Swell and Volume to the same cc number and then limit the volume to just a few db.
