Actually, I had to wait a couple years for NX to drop down to $29.It's really difficult waiting that 2 days before something's at $29 again.

Totally. This happens to me. I have to clear the cache and re-scan, and that resets some of my iLok stuff as well. Everytime I say "this is my last Waves plugin" then WavesTune came along, and HDelay went down to $25 and then I picked up VocalRider. In Reaper on my Mac the only plugins that show up are AU, unless I completely clear Reaper's cache and rescan all of my plugins. This can take up to an hour and is, frankly, a pain in the ass. This only happens with Waves plugins.
Frankly, I wish they'd rethink putting the waves plugins all in one shell and just release them like other developers do. Give me a vst, au or vst3 that I can actually see in my plugins folder.Totally. This happens to me. I have to clear the cache and re-scan, and that resets some of my iLok stuff as well. But, Waves Central is so poor that I am reaching the end of my must-have plugins.
I can't even install the plugins on more than one computer unless I go the route of carrying a USB key around with me, which is one more thing to misplace.
The guys at Waves need to really rethink their Waves Central (and how their install is affecting Reaper users too) because its really putting me off buying more plugins.
If a company is relentless with their sales, it means their product is overpriced.
MOST of the products are overpriced and always have been. Look at the sample library market. $800 for a Symphonic String Library in this day and age is ridiculous. Unfortunately, we're still seeing this kind of pricing and far too many of us are falling for it.If a company is relentless with their sales, it means their product is overpriced.
Waves doesn't mention that you can manage installations this way in any of their documentation, but if you unzip but don't install the offline v9 installer, you can read that folder as an offline installer from v10 Waves Central by selecting Install > Select offline installer and pointing it to the unzipped v9 folder. This lets you install both the v9 and v10 plugins from a single installation of Waves Central.they wont take waves plugins off the shell because it keeps you in the update chain.
I have a few plugins I don't use because i'd have to install waves 10, and almost all my plugins are waves 9. Hadnt realize they'd updated it to 10 when I bought those plugins, so basically either I give myself a headache trying to install 2 versions(all the old stuff requires an offline installer shinanigans) or I pay a butt load to update my plugins to waves 10
a few waves plugins I can't do without, but its quite infuriating
Waves business model is that you pay several times for the plugins, when you change computers and update your system.

Yes, I use the USB "dongle" method and have waves loaded on both my computers without a problem.I was under the impression that we could use our Waves plugins between multiple computers as long as the licenses were activated to a USB stick, similar I suppose, to how an iLok works.
It is the worst of any SSL emulation I've heard. Nasty, whistly EQs and the buss compressor has nice weight but collapses the stereo image a bit. Grab the Brainworx SSL EQ on sale at Plug-in Alliance right now and then grab the Townhouse buss compressor when it goes back on sale. Or grab a Slate Digital subscription.Any feedback on their SSL 4000 Collection?

And, unless it's changed, let's not forget the "I'll get you on the way out" with WUP.
I don't think anyone's complaining about it.Why complain that Waves has constant sales? I find it a very good thing for my bank account actually. Waves has clearly lost its dominance in the plug-in FX market and needs to survive, thus the constant sales....which is a win win for everyone IMO.
You are right. I should have said, "concerned".I don't think anyone's complaining about it.
Since they are one sale a lot I just buy a duplicate license.Yes, I use the USB "dongle" method and have waves loaded on both my computers without a problem.
