String instruments played like percussion?

Anyone know of any libraries dedicated to string instruments played unconventionally? Specifically, like percussion? Looks like the modern cello in Chris Hein Solo Cello has some percussive articulations which caught my ear, but seems overkill for what I'm looking for. Anyone know of any cheaper options?

Agreed. I just tried Bunker Strings a couple of days ago and have to say I'm pretty impressed by the weird and wonderful "articulations" there. The morphing control is very cool, it's inexpensive and the first release by an emerging talent so I'm happy to support them.

I have a sneaky suspicion that we'll be hearing these unique samples creeping in to many VI Control composer's work over the next few months.

Nice one, thanks for the suggestion! Had not heard of this library. Some really great textural stuff in there, and those drumstick articulations will come in handy. Will probably pick this up.

Know of any other libraries with percussive string elements? And not just played on the strings, but on the body as well - swipes, finger strikes, thuds, etc. I'd love to add an unconventional "drum" kit to my arsenal.

Looks like https://www.vir2.com/instruments/violence/ (Vir2 Violence) might be one to consider. Already have their https://www.vir2.com/instruments/fractured-prepared-acoustic-guitar/ (Fractured Guitar), which has some nice percussive stuff in there.

I see an ad up above for Superball. Looks like some unconventional perc (not necessarily using strings but unique nonetheless).

"The E String" by Audio Ollie is a neat little library. It has some literal drumstick-on-string patches, if I recall.

Thanks for the kind words about Bunker Strings everyone - I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have! We literally used drumsticks to record some of the articulations, so you can't get much more percussive than that. And it's on intro sale for another two weeks!

I seem to be shilling for Expressive e a lot these days but Arche strings with the touché controller is great for percussive strings. Play normally and tap (bang) the controller to get percussive sounds. Even though this works best with the touché controller I think you could do it with any velocity sensitive controller.

Yes, that Bunker Strings sounds really cool! Think I might get it.
As to the OP's question: there is some pretty fantastic stuff in Modwheel's The Lowdown v2. All bass, with some very percussive articulations. Check out the walkthrough.

yep for that one as well - I have a bit of Modwheel stuff, Interesting bunch, always adding something a bit different.

This is exactly the type of stuff I'm looking for, thanks for the suggestion!
