Opening credits music for a horror/suspense film

Beautiful work! Sounds like it would work perfectly for an intro. Really like the choice and quality of the fx, the instrumentation, the minimal yet effective melodic elements. The mix is very good as well. I’m sure the director/producers are happy, as they should be. :2thumbs:

Wow, thank you Ned! That means so much coming from someone as accomplished as you :)

I gotta say, nothing beats working with a real vocalist!

Lovely Romantic opening, tasteful use of glitchy effects. The vocal could be considered a bit too noticeable.

Thanks TVG! Yeah, the vocals are a bit on the loud side, but that's intentional. The vocals are kinda like a lead vocal in a song, not ethereal background vocals.

The vocals represent the lead actress in the movie and the vocals are used throughout the score. As the movie progresses, the lead actress becomes more twisted, so the vocals also get more twisted (via sfx VSTs like Tornado).

Loving it, @markd - really gripping but slightly unsettling. Captivatingly eerie. Could you talk a little about the libraries and SFX you used? Were the vocals live? They sound amazing :)

This is great @markd! Nailed it and I love the strings!
Excellent, well done!
Wow!, thanks guys! Much appreciated :)

Thanks!

Here's the libraries that I used:

Strings: Mural
Brass: CineBrass
Woodwinds: CineWinds
Vocals: definitely live vocals by 21 year old vocalist Bella Robinson in New York
SFX: mostly CineTools (processed using various vsts) and Trailer Expressions
Synths: IRIS 2 (love this synth!), Hybrid 3

Mixing and Mastering vsts: mainly T-Racks, a bit of WAVE vsts for the vocals and various reverbs

Great. I quite enjoyed it. I found it haunting, vaguely melodic, threatening, sometimes unsettling, but all without sounding forced or with distracting shifts in structure or tone.
