Thoughts on Strikeforce by Laboratory Audio

It is a great library and it can do a lot from small to big sounding, but it needs some tweaking here and there to make it sit well in a project. They have some good tutorials on their channel to walk you through some of the concepts. They layout is fantastic. I really love how they have set it up with increasing dynamics if you play higher.
Sound is fantastic, it can have quite some space though and in some occasions quite compressed sound, but if you aim for a natural realistic sounding percussion library, you should go elsewhere. It is great for driving, strong percussion stuff in all kinds of settings. I use it in a lot of projects.

Just finished downloading it :)
Was secretly hoping for a little last-minute Christmas discount but I know it’s going to get a lot of use anyway so I’m not bothered paying full price.
The track that Daniel James makes with it in his walkthrough is pretty bad-ass and basically tipped me over to get it

Do it! You know you deserve it :)

My thought is that it is really good and definitely worth the money, but that they didnt sell that many copies, which is why they have not released anything else.

Well maybe if they participated in Black Friday and Christmas sales they'd sell more, and the word of mouth would do its job.

A couple of months ago a Facebook group was trying to organize a group buy, and quite a few people were interested, but then Laboratory Audio back-pedalled. They must not like money.

I've been watching for any sort of holiday price movement from them also.

I would hope that they would think like this would be a good idea. It's such a quality product but every product has its cycle. It may not be all that long before something comes out to replace its position in the market.

They actually had a $50 off sale for Black Friday. Definitely wasn't enough of a discount for me to pull the trigger though, as much as I like the sound of the library.

You know, I checked it several times in that period and definitely did not notice that. I would have bought it if I had known.

Still waiting! Come on’ Strikeforce. A sale when no others are selling would bust some records. 30-40% off would do it. ;)

it's been on my radar as well when i'm deciding to get this or hans zimmer's percussion.

It’s nothing like HZ perc. It doesn’t have the same depth and lo end but it’s much better for faster stuff and the 2 layer very well. If I had to make do with just one I’d probably go with SF. If your doing more trailer/action/hybrid stuff I’d go with SF but if you do more straight up orchestral and just want some really big drums there’s nothing like HZ.
