String Writing Classical REVISION NEW

Excellent work !
Really convincing programming .
I'm not sure about the wide stereo spread. seems to be a big gap in the middle and a sense at times of
not every instrument being in the same space.

Fun track clifford. Too bad so few people seem to be interested in classical string writing in this subforum. I agree with @col's observation about the stereo spread. It seems to be unnaturaly wide with a hole in the middle. Did you add any stereo processing? Some of the long notes don't sound entirely natural to my ears, for example @ 0:12. But other than that I can not find much to fault here. Very well done, it's a cool track.

Hi Col,
At the time I recorded 4 different string pieces and they all sounded a bit compressed/messy and needing a wider image so I added a stereo spread which I thought sounded good at the time. Listening back I should have just left everything as it originally was. I got seriously carried away with that stereo spreader! lol! Thanks for commenting and listening!

It's ironic really because for all the money people spend on string/orchestral libraries you would think that there would be loads of interest in orchestral writing or classical composition and especially in trying to achieve this with sample libraries. But, alas there just isn't I suppose. Thanks for commenting and listening!

After some close listening to a few real string quartets I've gone the other way lately and put a slight stereo narrowing on the output which, for some sample libraries anyway - in some pieces , helps with a more realistic sound stage and
blending of the instruments. String writers Unite ! o_O
