He probably got a discount for owning more than one Evolution library, plus percent off, and maybe orange slices.

thx for the info! if you were to pick 2 guitars. which ones would it be? eguitar and acoustic ;)

I originally bought the Evolution Strawberry and the Evolution Steel Strings because they seemed the most all around guitars at the time. I might have gotten the Songwriter instead of the Steel Strings, but it wasn't around then. I also like the Drakus, but it was a little more metal than pop/rock to me. And? It depends on the sound you want.

That is hard for sure. I would say for general pop/rock sound, and you might want to check the demos, this is my order of preference:

Rock Standard/Songwriter (both are full sounding, and work well together or on their own, and top of my list, both are Gibsons...I must like Gibson a lot, heh)
Strawberry/Steel Strings (my first two libraries and still a great combo)
Stratosphere/Flatpick 6

My favorite of the niche libraries are Texas Twang and Jumbo 12. Very specific in their use, but they are awesome.

Downloading now the Evolution Acoustic Bundle. I must say: this is one of the smoothest ordering and downloading processes I've experienced in quite some time. Excellent flow, clarity, and ease. And, at least now, for me the download speeds are speedy.

I had a very smooth experience buying, downloading, and installing all 15 libraries in the Guitar Evolutions Bundle. Had fun exploring the libraries and even started writing with them already!

As playable as they are out of the box, I’m looking forward to diving deeper into the engine and using what I learn on one guitar across them all.

I already have Evolution Songwriter. I am planning to purchase the Archtop and an electric guitar, either Rock Standard or Infinity. Does anyone have any recommendations? It seems like Rock Standard is more "general purpose" but Infinity may be more advanced and perhaps sounds more realistic? Does anyone own both?

It's not really a matter of realism as much as a difference in tone. I think Rock Standard is the more versatile option of the two overall.

Infinity is great for lead sounds, and its infinite sustain (from the sustainer pickup on the guitar) makes it extra fun to play because of how much it sounds like feedback. However, I personally think that Infinity's clean tones sound a little plastic-y, which might be desirable for 80's clean guitar sounds, but has more limited application. Evolution Rock Standard has a much more organic tone, and is pretty versatile style/genre-wise. I mean, it's a Gibson Les Paul Standard, so that's to be expected. :)

You’re making it hard for me, Greg! I see that the Rock Standard has twice the number of samples as the Infinity, and many more presets, so I understand how it is more versatile. I do like the tone of the Infinity, and the shredding does sound more realistic to me, probably due to the sustain. Plus, the Rock Standard does have a preset that sounds kind of like the Hollowbody. Now I’m really confused :)
