The newest feature is the ability to reverse any sound source with the click of a button.

The sale will last for about a month (about 31 days remain at the time of posting this). There's a detailed countdown in the link to the product as well. Thanks!

Seurat
Version: Kontakt 5.7 / NCW / 2.7 GB / V1.6
Advanced Grain Recombination Engine

Product Overview
Seurat is the first instrument to use our AGRA engine (Advanced Grain Recombination Architecture).

Essentially this is a highly-customisable granular synthesis engine, used across the two complementary voices.

Seurat allows you to manipulate the normal granular controls - grain size, grain frequency, attack and release of each grain and sample position but also adds a range of additional parameter controls for things like grain gain (volume), grain position variation (movement), the space between grains and the symmetry of grain positions in the audio flow offering a range of interesting and often unique outcomes.

NEW in Version 1.1:

  • Seurat now responds to Sustain/Damping pedal -with your pedal engaged Seurat will continue to sustain the currently playing notes indefinitely - or until you release the pedal.
  • Your Modulation wheel will now move each value in the "space" table up and down - Seurat will maintain the shape you have drawn into the table - and this will affect the space between grains accordingly.
  • CC 12 now does the same for the Voice 1 position table - and will affect where Seurat harvests grains from and thus the sound of Voice 1
  • CC 13 now does the same for Voice 2 position table - and will affect where Seurat harvests grains from and thus the sound of Voice 2
NEW in Version 1.5:

  • Seurat now features an intelligent randomise feature. Pressing the logo on the main page will generate instant unique sounds
  • New snapshots
NEW in Version 1.6: (Please install V1.6 as a new product)

  • Seurat now features a 'Reverse' feature. Reverse individual voices for interesting new textures
  • New snapshots

Details
Seurat offers an unconventional collection of sounds for movie scoring and sound design.

Seurat uses our powerful AGRA engine (Advanced Grain Recombination Architecture). Essentially this is a highly-customisable granular synthesis engine, Seurat allows you to manipulate the normal granular controls - grain size, grain frequency, attack and release of each grain and sample position but adds a range of additional parameter controls for things like grain gain(volume), grain position (movement), the space between grains and the symmetry of grain position in the audio flow offering a range of interesting and often unique outcomes.

Seurat comes with 707 Samples, 81 Selectable Sound Sources and 175 snapshots, each grouped into separate folders for ease of access.

SERIAL SYSTEM
Seurat features its own custom serial system.

You will require the full version of Kontakt to load Seurat (Not Kontakt Player). When you purchase Seurat you will be provided with a unique code which is required to unlock the instrument. Please refer to the Installation guide that come with your download for further information.

UPDATES
Audio Reward are not your average Sample Library developer, we do updates, and we do them for free to existing owners. If you buy one of our products we will offer you point releases (1.0 to 1.1 and all the way to 1.9) for all our products. These updates include bug-fixes and requested functionality as well as additional snapshots, and sometimes additional sounds. We just keep giving.

FREE VERSION AVAILABLE
You can now download a free version of Seurat by clicking the 'Demo' icon near the top of this page. The free version contains all the functions of the full version but with a much smaller set of source sounds and fewer snapshots.

Frequent updates are great and certainly appreciated, but installing each update as a new product (as you stated for 1.5 and now again with 1.6 - that's 3 full versions on my rig now) could quickly get out of hand. Any thoughts on this?

The main footprint is the samples and they have not changed with any of the updates. You can point each version to the same sample folder, and delete the other, unused ones. You would do this by deleting all but one of the sample folders (doesn't matter which version). And then when you try to load the versions which have "missing samples." You just choose that sample folder which remains, then resave the instrument as "patch only" (do not move the NKI). This will cut down the footprint at least.
If that doesn't make sense I can make a video on it.

Also, a think to keep in mind. The snapshots for 1.5 do work in 1.6 as well :)

No problem with executing this common procedure. I wasn't aware that the samples have not changed (potential additions, etc.) from version to version. I suppose I could have checked. Thanks for the info!

I don't own v1.5, if I buy v1.6 does it include the snapshots from v1.5 or does it only contain the 100 snapshots from v1.6? thanks

Yes, it should be included in the 1.6v downloads --at least I did advise the team to include them. If not though, I can always provide them for you :)
I can still confirm it to make sure that they are included in the 1.6 download files.

In the video the snapshots are differenciated after the version (1.5 one folder, 1.6 another folder) but in the downloaded version they are differenciated after categories but after a quick look on the the two snapshot folders I would assume that they are all in. A little hard to compare cause in 1.5 the new ones where just added without categories (at least in my version) and now all are categorized but I looked for three or four and none was missing.

So there are no categories for some? That's strange.
I made categories for all of the snapshots I've created for 1.5 and 1.6
Would you be able to send a screenshot?
Otherwise, if I'm not understanding you and there are no issues, don't worry about it :)
Sorry for any confusion.

When I first saw this I thought "gawd another synth" but then I listened to some of the tracks and I like it! Will order!

I like the eclectic bias of Kontakt Hub, some very interesting instruments there.
It's really really NOT another synth Bill, which I hope you've discovered...

I bought Seurat - but exactly where are the snapshots really supposed to go? Is there an easier way with the latest Kontakt that I'm missing? The problem is the installation instructions mention a folder that doesn't exist on my machine.

I have the latest version of Komplete (11) Ultimate and everything is working great, but one thing I don't have is
MAC OS : Users\<username>\Documents\Native Instruments\User Content\Kontakt\Seurat_R. That folder (both \Kontakt and Seurat_R) definitely don't. exist anywhere on my iMac (or any external drive).

I would just create a Kontakt\Seurat_R folder - but why doesn't the Kontakt folder already exist there?? Help.

Unfortunately NI doesn't allow us to save the snapshots wherever we want. Whenever you create a snapshot for an NKI it will create a folder automatically in a fixed location. It will be the exact same name as the NKI. For MAC the location is
Macintosh HD/Users/<User Name>/Documents/Native Instruments/User Con-
tent/Kontakt
So within that Kontakt folder you can create a folder with the exact same name as the latest Seurat NKI and then drop all of the snapshots into there. Or if Glyn already has the snapshots placed into a folder with the same name as the Seurat NKI, then you can just drop that into the Kontakt folder.
Unfortunately this is the way all smaller developer's snapshots are installed. If my explanation was awful, here's a video that should help.

Reuben actually shows a faster, more fool proof method.
Hope that helps, and sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks- that makes sense. This is an amazing instrument btw! Best money I’ve spent in a long while!
