Where to download a specific previous version of Kontakt?

OK, instead of ranting about the poor NI customer service, I'm hoping someone here can point me very specifically to where I can download Kontakt v. 5.8.0 specifically. I'm having a hard time finding it.

I just installed the 5.8.1 update and it's wreaking havoc in a certain way, don't have time to go into it here -- I just want to uninstall it and re-install 5.8.0, which worked fine.

Thanks for any help!

(This thread was originally about the abysmal NI customer service, how it's as bad as Steinberg at this point).

Log into your account on the NI website -> My account -> All downloads -> Updates for older products -> type "Kontakt" into the search bar -> Voila, previous updates to download. Maybe you can just download the update to the previous version. Let us know if it worked :)

Also you could try to click on Kontakt 5 in your NI Access center and hit "full version", it changes then to a reinstall button, maybe there are other versions avaiable to choose. I'm afraid to try it before it reinstalls instantly xD

Thanks Voider -- I tried that before but I don't see an "Updates for Older Products" anywhere. Also, Native Access only lets you re-install the latest version.

There's gotta be a link with the actual previous version to download somewhere, right? I'm having a hard time finding that. This is maddening! :)

Mayber older versions are easier to crack and reverse engineer since software progressed over the years. I guess if you contact them you'll get an individual download link.

+1 unfortunatley

Can I ask one of you to at least share some basic details about what this problem with the 5.8.1 update is? Now I am thinking that I should maybe wait to update, but I have no idea as to why (there’s no discussion of any 5.8.1 problems in either the K5 forum here or on the NI forums).

Yeah I'd like to know as well before updating... Especially as you're on mac and so am I... What OS are you running?

The issue for me was that on some multitimbral instances of Kontakt, enabling one of the parts to record in Cubase would send MIDI to every other part. Didn't happen all of the time, but was unusable when it did.

I'm on the latest High Sierra. All is fine now in the previous version of Kontakt. I called NI and they gave me a private link.

Thanks for the warning, I'll stay on 5.8.0 for a while. "Never touch a running system" worked well for me in the past ^_^
