What's new

Inspiriation is gone. But I made a funeral song.

I think it's beautiful! Soft and nice arrangement. The solo violin sounds cool. I think you should try to make the vocals blend better with the mix. It sounds like the singer is in a different environment than the instruments.

I'm not sure about the backward sounding cymbal - a little too bright/harsh and in your face. The bell in the end sounds over-compressed. I would push it back in the mix by rolling off some treble.

I would try to make the whole song sound softer, but that could be a matter of taste. (Might be because I've been working on a pretty muffled sounding thing the past few days, and my ears aren't used to treble right now ;) )

Thanx for the feedback. I agrre about the cymbal, and the male vocal is crap (its just me trying to pretend I can sing...LOL). I think the version without the male vocal is better:)

Do anyone have suggestions about a plugin to Logic that in an easy way can "make me sing better" ?

Yes, there is a plugin called "Get some singing lessons". ;) Honestly, I had a little to smirk by reading that. Whatever means "singing" better for you, for me I think "plugins" won´t make your performance , expression and voice sounding really better. Sure there is autotune and a lot of other crap which lets correct pitch and puts effects on the voice. If you are not satisfied with your result then work on the fundamentals: train your voice, practise more, get your intonation right. Plugins won´t make you a great sound..shit in = shit out. Just my opinion, Mads. ;)

Fully agree with what Alexander wrote, though I would have formulated it in much more drastic words. If you are not interested in learning and understanding what you are doing stop wasting your time (and money on plugins) with it.

Really? And I had concerns if my comment was already too drastic.

I admire your restraint. This place could use more tactful responses in the vein of Alexander Schiborr and less of the graduates from The School of Hard Knocks.

Sounds great! I love the feeling.

I'm not a master in singing, but I'm practising my singing, thus take my advice with a grain of salt :).
Your singing sounds like you're coming from down to the note, and that might be the reason for the pitchy singing. Bending the notes is a decoration, and can be used, but use it once, you've mastered singing in tune. Practising that can be done by e.g. singing just plain straight and listen to yourself. I'm not sure if this helps, but I'm practising singing in tune by thinking of a interval, hearing it in my head and then singing it. First using piano, and then without. The trick is to internalize the melody so that you can't just help but sing in tune.

One thing that might improve your singing.
Learn to breathe from the diaphragm. Learning how to properly breathe correctly some of flatness in my vocals.
Another thing I found useful is getting a track of a drone (one single note) and singing with it. This helps intonation if you concentrate.
Beyond that you are going to have a very hard time learning proper mechanics on your own.

It is the bohemian violin:) and I am
NOT a singer

Alex: my skin is so much thicker
