AU Detection & Validation Problems w Logic 10.3.3 & 10.13.2 - HELP

I'm slowly getting everything installed and configured on my new iMac Pro (coming home from a Windows experiment). I'm quite impressed with the machine and experience except for one really aggravating problem - I'm having problems with Logic not detecting new AU's. I have tried the trick with deleting the plugin cache with no success. Sometimes restarting the computer works. Real PIA as I was hoping to evaluate whether I stick with Cubase or go back to Logic. No similar VST issues with Cubase BTW.

So, any of the Logic pros out there (ahem, Jay?) have any advice on this AU problem or is it just a bug of High Sierra & 10.3.3?

Thanks

Keith

Keith, you need to reboot for the new AU to be recognized. Known High Sierra issue.

If you use U-he, there is a issue in Zebra 2.8 of slow loading times if you have a large patch library and in RePro with patch sorting.

Congrats on the new machine, that display is killer eeh ? how many cores ?

Did you do everything manually or use migration assistant ? (was it helpful if so ?)

Thanks - known except by the guy who has been ignoring the Logic threads until now

10 cores, 64GB, 2TB, base graphics chip - love the machine, and yes, the display is awesome!

The only issue so far (aside from the LPX stuff) is some of my external SSD's get ejected after sleep (seems to also be a known issue with Mac OS lately). Solution is just don't sleep the machine (or turn it off).

Nice, 20 mulithread's must look cool in istat menu's!

Let us know if the new file format causes any issues.

Still on Sierra here.

I formatted all of the external SSD's as APFS as well - no issues so far. Installing all the NI stuff now via Native Access, so we'll see how that goes.

And it does seem to be a HS issue, not just Logic - I installed my Spectrasonics stuff using the new updaters (and moved my STEAM folder over manually) and when I tries to launch the standalone versions to authorize, I got a "cannot find AU plugin" message.
