Creating a custom Capsule multi (Berlin Brass)

I was trying to create a cross fade multi with horns sustain and horns bells up patches (Berlin Brass) in Capsule, but bells up patches are not selectable in the multi. There are only Sustains, Reps, Crescendos, Fortepiano, Swells and Trills. This is the horns long multi.

Do you have any idea, how to solve this?

What you can do is to use two multis on the same midi channel. I have not time to look into it, but I think it should be possible like this: on the fist multi there is Sus Imm on the first slot, slot 2 is empty. On the second, you put Sus Imm Bells up on slot 2 and slot 1 is empty. Then you should be able to enable multi key switching, key switch to these 2 articulations and crossfade between the two.
Otherwise, you could also have two midi tracks and manually crossfade via inverted CC11 (expression). You could even do that live by using a Cubase transformer on the second track to invert expression.

I think you just have to click on the articulation name to change the articulation and put the one you want from the list. Then you can add it.

But the list doesn't have the Horn Ensemble Bells Up patches.

So this is the only solution, but too much work :D.

I wanted to have a solution for this, because the basic Sus patch doesn't sound like fff, but the Bells Up patch sounds like it. But I would like to have a crossfaded patch from p to fff.

Yes, a multi made up of two instances of CAPSULE inside Kontakt (as explained above) is the suggestion that OT gives folks looking to do this.

I could do that with other patches, but not with patches that are not in the articulation list of the multi. Or am I misunderstanding this? I can use Bells Up only as a single patch, but not inside a multi, because I can't find it in the articulation list of a multi.

That's right, the Bells Up articulations are not available in the Multis. You have to use some kind of inverted expression trick like @FriFlo mentionned (a fade out on another articulation, and at the same time a fade in on your Bells up single artic).

May I suggest giving a try to the Marcato Long artic instead ? This one is available in the Multis, you can crossfade it with a regular sustain, adding legato to it... and they can sound quite powerful in their higher dynamics.

I mis-read your question, I was referring to a setup as OT describes in their manual....

Combining Multi Articulation Patches with choice Singles on one track
The Multi Articulation Patches offer a lot of unique features and possibilities not available in the Single Articulation Patches. However, there are situations where you want to use the Singles, for example to use the Trills Orchestrator or the Adaptive Legato with Expression control. In these cases simply load your chosen Single Articulation patches on the same channel as your multi(s). Of course you will only want one articulation at a time to play, not all of them at the same time. To do this, you can define a Mute Instrument keyswitch in the Controller Table that mutes and unmutes that specific Single Articulation patch. This way you can use Singles and Multis on the same track with ease.

One idea..... not sure how elegant or useful for your intended purpose.

Horn Ens Multi with Sus Imm in slot 1
Horn Ens Bells Up Sus Imm in a new instance assigned to same channel

Enable Poly KS (CC Xfade) on Ens Multi & pick an empty slot for where it 'fades' to.
NOW THIS PATCH WILL BE TIMBRALLY CONTROLLED BY CC1 FOR BRIGHTNESS

On the Bells Up patch, Set it's Timbral dynamics to CC22 instead of modwheel. Turn on Niente too.

Now with CC1 and CC22 all the way down you get Horn Ens quiet to mezzo loud.
After you've maxed CC1 start turning up CC22. Bells Up will begin to replace Horn Ens until you max it out!

I was trying to avoid this solution, but it works! :). Thanks a lot! Though I would like to be able to have any single patches in Capsule multi. I don't know why OT hasn't done that.

Because they say Capsule is great, but actually is an "half solution" to Kontakt limitations. They should develop their own sampler. Than they could be really great.
