Thoughts on Kontakt 5.7.1 Is it safe?

I went to install Spitfire Symphonic Evos and it is saying I need K 5.6.8 (Windows). I was currently on 5.5.3 using Service Center. So after a day of wrestling with updating to 5.6.6 (only option available) and still no luck, I installed Native Access and now I only have an update to 5.7.1 available.

Will i run into any issues if going to 5.7.1? I have many VEPro setups that need to open using multiple Kontakt set-ups, just don't want to have issues opening them.

Thanks gang!

I held off for a long time. Had to update for a new library as well. 5.7.1 is working for me without issues and my 3rd party libraries are still intact. Windows 7 64 bit (old) i7 940.

Working great for me!

As an aside 5.6 has some crazy bugs in the distortion units which can create intense noise bursts. For your health I recommend updating. (or dont use libs that utilise the distorion units.)

I updated and have not had problems. I am in the transition from Cakewalk to Sonar, so realistically I have not pushed it.

Quasar, you succumbed! Resistance is futile. :)

Updated to 5.7.1 ages ago. Template is stuffed full of Kontakt instances (like most here). Operating with no problems. Interface changes take a little getting used to but just a little.

Daniel James-Perry D et al, a question for you if you don't mind.
Are any of you folks running pre Kontakt 3 libraries like the old Spectrasonics Akai-Kontakt conversions, the old Kontakt 2 and the Kontakt versions of the original Garritans. And most importantly to me are the Kompakt version of 2006 East West Orchestra Gold that was moved forword to Kontakt 3 as "nki's at the same time as E.W. was making the transition to Play.
When the 5.7.1 first came with "Native Access" replacing the old Service Center, many people on this forum complained that older libraries of theirs were no longer available to them.
N.I. told me that these are probably expired licensing issues that were not, and would not be carried forword.
I was also advised by NI that there was no way to find out what I'd lose except but to make the move and then find out after much of my templates, or how many of my older completed project files had been denuded of instruments.
I'd really like to know as I would like to move up from 5.6, but don't want to lose (or have to re-record with different libs) years of work.
I have to leave now but I'll look back tomorrow to see if there are any replies. Thanks!!

I stayed away from updating Kontakt for quite a while after hearing the horror stories early adopters experienced w/ Native Access updating to K5.68.
I was parked in K5.66 for months.......
Finally I made the move to update Kontakt after purchasing several libraries during this deluge of Black Friday sales that required updating Kontakt via Native Access.
Reluctantly I updated Kontakt to K5.71 a last week and was pleasantly surprised how well NA now works!
Kontakt 5.71 seems totally OK,no issues whatsoever.
I also used NA to implement updates for several libraries and synths that had been updated without any problems.
Updating/authorizing Kontakt, related libraries and various synths via Native Access is quick ,works and is well implemented.
Now I actually prefer Native Access over Service Center!

EWQLSO and EWQLSC still working fine here. For authorizing them you'd still use whatever method was used back then (registration tool?), or Service Center.
