ALBION(S) One thru V Preference Order _ TODAY ??

Hoping responders will provide view(s) as they would rank for newer Orch/Cine/Epic/Trlr content creator _ with all possible project needs going forward.

Surely each Albion has stronger/weaker content, yet they must individually complement each other ? Emphasized 'TODAY' as so much new in marketplace since last Albion release.

BTW; asked this of SF in context of popularity over time, and no surprise that I & V are at top, but got no sense of II, III, IV.

Loegria and Legacy first. Don't know the others well since I don't own 3 through V. But according to the walkthroughs, Legacy and Loegria are just splendid compared to the others.

I have III and it has many good things in them like the low drums that sound like Hans Zimmers and low end brass and strings but only get it as it compliments Albion ONE

THX guys ! ICENI, LOEGRIA need much more attention as next purchase is imminent.

Interesting that ICENI is smallest (by a bunch) content/samples ! Size matters ! ... NOT :whistling:

yes I loved how I finished downloading it within hours where as every other spitfire products almost gave me heart attacks when I had to wait a whole day or 2 or 3 days.

Iceni is intense, but I use Uist the most. I think that's one of the libraries where Spitfire outdid themselves from a creative perspective.

Interesting (to me), and seriously helpful that these Albion(s) receive high acolades today ahead of One/Tundra.

Truly sad to hear ongoing comment supporting I (Legacy). Raises valid questions re. SF decisions there.

THX !

One and Iceni can both be hard to get to sit in a mix due to seemingly inescapable room sound. I mean, it's a good room, but it can play havoc with other vis.

Very early-on with Orch/Cine/Epic/Trlr but will be aware of this.
Only String/Orch libraries now are NI K1U Legacy & Symphony Essentials, KH Diamond Symphony, Sonuscore_The Orchestra, OT_BO_Inspire.
Lots to learn, and will try Albion(s) with these moving forward. Using One now, and will focus on how it fits with what I have.
THX

You already have plenty of stuff to work with !

Good! Hard for me to know, so far, but feel it is fine for now. This is why Albion(s) are of much interest rather than more Orchestral content. Should be long time before adept enough to need more. :barefoot:

With Inspire and TO, theoritically, you have every separate sections and baked ensemble to work your orchestral craft, and then, move forward depending on what you really need. And yes, AIR Studio stuff is hard to blend naturally with other librairies...

I am convinced there are people who simply enjoy talking about buying sample libraries on forums but don't actually make any music. Or maybe others who collect them like others collect ornaments - once purchased they're handled for a moment and then left on a shelf alongside the rest, gathering dust.

OR ... as with any collection of TOOLS that get used when needed.
Some capable individuals do wonders with few, some others enjoy many; ( often specialized types ).
Nice to reach for one that fits precisely, even though not touched for quite some time.

Hopefully none to be criticized for making personal choices as they do ??

OBTW .... lots more $$$$ in Japanese Artisan Cutlery and Sharpening Stones than will ever have in Orchestral Libraries.
In a pinch one can do nicely with edge of recently opened steel can.
Many might enjoy my sashimi or tempura veggies though ... :P

I think so. This whole community thing (especially on what appears to be a relatively much friendlier and well moderated forum than most) can be attractive for people whom mostly just love music and want to talk about it from their armchair. Nothing wrong with that...unless same people are running their credit cards into the ground and thus jeopardizing their basic security (been there, regret and learned from that).

The only purchase I regret is the Spitfire Evos, which I bought in a bundle. The woodwinds were interesting, and I do use each of them every now and then. But I could have messed with Action Strings, Session Strings Pro, Luminoso, and even the ostinato feature in the Spiftire stuff (all of which I own) to get not dissimilar results. I got so hot and bothered over the Evos that I blew what was left of my credit on the bundle...

did I mention that was my only regret? I learned from that, big time.

I have Action Strings, And I'm interested by the Evos with winds... ;) If you'd be interesting in making an exchange... ^^

Ha! Of course that can't happen, but not just because of the non-transferrable Spitfire clause, but both because Evo Winds is easily my most used of the Evos (though that ain't saying a lot) and Action Strings is a staple for me in general. The latter is essential in my music.

Just to add my thoughts-

I agree about the EVO's. Listening to what they do...I might not be able to mimick EXACTLY what is happening, but I think for, even the large variety of what I produce, I can get close enough to not need those. But on topic...

I have Albion I (which I love), Albion One (which is good, but not as good as I), II, and V, because a lot of the other stuff can be done with other tools I have (tons of synths, Keep Forest, 8Dio, and Orch Tools, etc. etc.). I ONLY got V because of the horns and woodwinds, because LCO covers (albeit thinner) what the strings do, and I love the Steam Band patches.

Albion V and LCO are the easiest to mix with other things. One is just stubborn and I tend to use it when doing hybrid tracks.

If I had to do over I would have V, LCO, and Bernard Herrmann...everything else is sufficiently covered in my other libraries.
