Which Spitfire library for fantasy magical stuff?

I second what have been already said, it has much to do with orchestration and not that much to do with the sounds, unless is a medieval kind of thing, in which case I would also use Rinascimento or Era (the former more accurate to the medieval thing). Lumina is great with some textures as starting points and beautiful solo instruments, but if you listen e.g. McNeely's work on the Tinkerbells, you'll see that a regular orchestra can sound incredibly 'magical'.
Good orchestration of winds, a bit of piano, harp and celesta or glockenspiel here and there, and ten times more transpiration than inspiration and you are good as gold :)
To the OP, symphonic ww and chamber/symphonic strings are deep enought to cover almost everything. The recommendation of spitfire percussion for the tonal perc and Andy Findon for the uncommon flutes are good ones too. Not Spitfire, but I'd add also Soundiron's Elysium harp (lovely sound and many options there).
Good luck, sounds like a fun project!

Hi all,
I am getting on a fantasy game soundtrack endeavor and after evaluating on hand choices I am seemingly lacking in textural woodwinds department. Hollywoodwinds is great, Symphobias will be handy as well, but what Spitfire product will do me justice - Tundra, Masse, Evogrid 4 or maybe UIST? All the walkthroughs are on my watching list, but please share your Spitfire fantasy writing experiences if you have any. Thanks.
Well +1 for Albion Loegria. I love the sound of this library! Perfect for any fantasy game. Check out Christian Hensons Demos on the SF site. Tundra could also work nicely. As would the Olafur Arnalds Toolkit and the Evos.
Woodwind Evos from Spitfire could help you with textural passages. And some of the most used instruments in my template are the Labs instruments. Great quirky stuff in there that inspires you to do your own stuff.

When I think of Game/Fantasy soundtracks, this one comes to my mind first, it has all the things you would expect:

09:48 6. Dalentarth (Glockenspiel, celeste, winds)
(Probably one of the Berlin solo WW expansions for the slow winds here)
13:58 7. House of Ballads (fantasy Horns)
15:15 9. Mines and Caves (tremmolo strings, basson)
18:49 10. Gardens of Ysa (slow windy thrills)
48:34 26. Balor (Timpani)
01:04:49 33. Gadflow (runs)

Whole soundtrack is excellent though.

Yeah !! Just got me to add another handful of Labs ibstruments. Great tools for the kit, at incredible, low cost !

Spitfire's regular lineup is perfect for this kind of music. If you want it to feel a bit more contemporary it helps to add some pulses or synths or something, but you really don't have to do that to get the "classic" fantasy sound. You'll need a choir too, naturally, but there are good ones out there.

would you advice some? :) thks

would you advice some?

Symphonic Strings, Symphonic Brass, Symphonic Woodwinds and Spitfire Percussion (the Joby Burgess library). If you have a lot of money, other libraries such as harp, specialty mallets (there are some in the percussion library already, but the specialty ones are more detailed), and even some of the more epic percussion like HZ can be useful.

If you are poor, instead consider East West's Hollywood series, which is far less expensive and still sounds absolutely great (strings, brass, winds, percussion). You don't even have to buy it all immediately if you want to try it for a few months using their subscription service, "Composer Cloud."

I do love Spitfire but I also use East West and many others all the time.

[note: I have received free products from East West]

Good to see Joby Burgess Percussion getting some luv.
Was hoping you might have embellished your earlier 'Choir' comment, particularly re. fantasy magical stuff

Ready to add one and yeah .... "several good ones out there"

Thanks for excellent suggestions everyone! I think Evo Grid Woodwinds coupled with Berlin Woodwinds exp D (thank you Luciano) will give me the flowing woodwinds I was looking for. But I will surely put Lumina and East West woodwinds to good use as well.

I've seen them at different times, but the december sale (that often goes far into January through Audio Deluxe and JRR shop) is probably the longest.
