How to delete stuff from NI Service Center?

Does anybody knows how to remove non-active entrys from the Service Center?

When opening the Service Center I always get bombed by update messages from Kontakt2/3/4 (which was never installed on my current system) to historic old versions of already updated libraries and even years ago deinstalled libraries too.

In the endless list it's hard to find the stuff that really needs updates.

NI support told me earlier this year that you cannot remove those entries and there will be an update to the service center which will solve that. They didn't tell me when this will happen though.

Are you sure you do not have prefs files in your system. I am on a Mac and there is a folder for Service Center in the Application Support folder that has .plist files for libraries. Deleting them usually gets rid of them from Service Center.

Maybe just check you do not have any prefs files anywhere on your PC?

PC/Windows don't use prefs files - they have registry.

And yeah, you cannot hide update entries in SC forever - only for currently active session. Which is useless.

I'm on Mac... but as far as I know some of the prefs are used for the software activations. I'm a bit afraid to remove those... but I'll make a safety copy and have a try. Or I hope for babylonwaves news and wait for the SC update :)

i wasn't talking about libraries, I was talking about updates. @Saxer: did I misunderstand your question?

You don't have to delete them, for now to test just move them outside that folder onto your desktop. You may get asked for your username and password to verify, but do not worry. Worst case scenario you can move them back.

To get rid of them from Service Center you need to delete the file with the Library name in these locations:

Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/Service Center - these are .xml files
Library/Preferences - these are .plist files

You may also need to repeat the second entry for your user access by pressing the alt key and choosing Library from the Go menu.

I know this works as I have done it myself. Make sure you have removed the Library in Kontakt first.
