I quit my job to go full-time creative! Here's the vlog

There seems to be this assumption here that one has quit his cushy well paid job as IT manager (or similar) and are now living of scraps after having taken the music full time route. This wasn't the case for me. I only have the hours between 9 am and 3 pm available as I have to bring the kids...

I'm not sure. Never really bothered with Ozone, but I use Mixroom on every mix and BassRoom to a lesser degree. If it has an option to load a reference mix and suggest a matching EQ curve, I guess it could be a substitute.

I wouldn't worry too much about the minuses. Most libraries I work with is a one man band. Has he got distribution worldwide or least a few large countries? Is the other music in his library of high quality or does he appear to just take on whatever music he can get hold of?

The factory presets are good, but they are mostly 'generic EDM'. If you want something a bit more specialised like Trance, Synthwave or Tropical house, the expansion are much better. There's currently a 30% off sale, so definitely worth considering.
  23. R. Soul

I'm floored by this demo. Voice completely naked - apart from reverb. Only minor issue I find is the sustained 'cried' word, which could have used some more vibrato from the get go, but it seems like that's a choice of the user, more than a limitation of the program.

When using synth libraries do you prefer simple sounds or multi-layered ones?

There's a lot of sounds on the market, in particular for Omnisphere that's really complex and just doesn't work for anything musical. What I really miss is unique and simple sounds, like plucks and leads with a different vibe but that doesn't sound like bog standard super saw or Reese bass.
