New Mac Pro and New M2 Ultra Mac Studio!!! (Yeah!)

Maybe, but they've been very up-front with this OS about the known issues that it has created, and why some things are better suited to being fixed by Apple than each dev. Moreso than with prior releases that I can recall. I do have Logic, Cubase and Live installed as well. I don't run them...

New Mac Pro and New M2 Ultra Mac Studio!!! (Yeah!)

As Al said, there are a lot of issues with Pro Tools. A lot of what seems to be hanging on is the Graphics and UI changes in Sonoma. FWIW Apple changes the graphics protocols with pretty much every update (according to the head of EuCon development), and I've read several reports of problems...

I got that email. Since I'm a Pro Tools user, the software never worked properly with my Mk1 for me anyway. It's essentially been a dumb controller for as long as I've owned it, albeit with MIDI CC knobs and key color ranges that I customized in Controller Editor... wait... The Controller...

Anyone doing serious orchestral composing entirely in Pro Tools ?

Yeah. I don’t have those problems. I’ve been doing that work in Pro Tools for the last decade, and Pro Tools has come a long way to improve it in the last 5-7 years. Sure, there are a few minor things that other DAWs have that I’d still really like to see, and I let Avid know, but I still get...

Jared! Yeah. Spitfire sometimes, too. It doesn't happen super often for me, but when it does, it's hard to get it to stay "unstuck", and I end up Committing to audio pretty often. I seem to recall the "All MIDI Off" command working better years ago. Maybe before the 64-bit change...

Good times. I remember having to help disassemble a Synclavier keyboard when I was an assistant, because the composer spilled Coca-Cola into it and didn't tell anyone. o_Oo_Oo_O I also have had at least 2 M-Audio keyboards crap out in spectacular ways. The ones in studio. It was a given...

Yeah. $1,300 on a new keyboards and then $600-$1,000 for a new desk. LOL. But don't think I haven't considered that. I think you'd have to etch the surface, otherwise you'd spend way too much time cleaning fingerprints. :2thumbs:

Komplete Kontrol S-series keyboards Mark 3 - now available

I prefer to keep my faders separate. That way if a fader breaks, or a key on the keyboard breaks, I only have one part of my rig to repair or replace, and I'm not screwed for every other function. I could see it differently if I were gigging, but not in studio.

Komplete Kontrol S-series keyboards Mark 3 - now available

This may bode well for a future A or M-series Kontrol line. The screen and navigation is totally superfluous for me (especially since that part sits under my desk), but I could put the light guide, poly aftertouch, MIDI 2.0, USB-C, and wheels/touch strip to use pretty quickly.

UPDATE: SINE 1.2.0 Released 8/31/2023 | Release Notes Updated 9/5/23

I installed 1.20, and checked in an app that Sine Player now is encoded for Universal (ie -Apple Silicon Native) for AAX format. (I use Pro Tools, so yes it does matter to me very much). I won't be able to test it until tomorrow, but that was pretty interesting.

Yes. If you’re really concerned about eeking out maximum speed and expandability, it’d be a safe bet to plunk down for a (Sonnet or others) PCI expansion chassis (with Thunderbolt 3/4) and mount the NVMes onto one of the available PCI cards made for that purpose.
