Harmonic Subtones Emotional Violin inches closer to release

Christmas comes early,.....cant wait to get home and move on download. What is the crossgrade discount?

Still embracing all the new capabilities. This thing is vast. So far I am enjoying running through the new Ornaments keyswitches, around 18 of them......powerful tool to add realism to your performance. Have only just loaded "Intimate" instrument.....thrilled with plentiful articulations like "godot",....vibrato coming at around 4 seconds after pressing key....too many to comment on them all. Tone as with the cello is too my taste. Baked in vibrato is beautiful, with enough variety offered through the various articulations. (I have never been a fan of scripted vibrato offerings,...others may beg to differ) Legato smooth as with their cello. Even the portamento seems more natural to me out of the box. Some time spent becoming ergonomic with the portamento controls can yield vary real and satisfying realism to ones playing. I look forward to comments from owners of embertones JB instrument, or even SA's latest violin performance, both of which I would have considered, had i not had so much confidence in Magnus and his H/Subtones team.

Excellent. Thank you for sharing your initial thoughts. If the tone is to your taste, as with the cello then I'm all over this. I love the emo cello but think it's weakest point (and it's not that weak just the weakest part IMHO) is the portamento but with time and tweaking I have it in a position I'm happy with. From your comments I'm gleaning that the porto for the violin may be better or am I reading too much into your comments?

edit - How do you find it handles faster passages just on the main patch?

I spent quite some time on the cello, working out how to manipulate the instrument xfade control, as well as the portamento speed and volume, as well assigning midi learns to my controller to achieve what if I felt was a real enough rendition of player portamento. Basically raking back the levels on portamento episodes seemed to camouflage most weaknesses for my ear. Over the next few days I should be able to offer a more confident perspective on the portamento subject.
