Hi to all,

have been registered for a while, but nearly without posting.
So finally it's time to change this :)

I'm Thomas from Germany, originally a guitarist. Have been composing music for a long time and composing is still very important.
Started with a tape recorder, then two tape-decks, then a 4Tracker and finally the computer era caught me since 2001 using a DAW.

I've heard and still like lots of different music. And so my dilemma as a composer is/was that I'm influenced by all of this and listeners from time to time always had difficulties to assign my stuff to a certain genre. I might think some of you know this.

It started with Punk and Industrial + Frank Zappa + old Blues music + Classical Music + having heard lots of Popmusic + having grown up listening a lot to German Schlager. Later on Prog- and Art-Rock + Worldmusic happened plus the regular usage of the beloved MS-10 Synthesizer.

I have split my identities as an artist in the past trying to make it easier to assign to them: One for pop & rockmusic (and mainly english language), one for classical/experimental/electronic works without lyrics and actually I re-necroed an old alter ego for german popmusic and Schlager.
My opus magnum fits into radioplay: Done a 2 h Hörspiel with 14 narrators..

So now I'm here - oversaturated with lots of plugins (and libraries), so that I think there's not much stuff to buy anymore.

Actually I'm diving deeper into Video-Producing, as it seems there's no way out to use this as a contemporary addition to the music.
But: It should be ideal, that music for itself works as purely listening experience and enjoyment. Music though seems "in a way" to have become sort of meaninglesss these days (imo) -> without much political / social impact anymore. More "functional" music is surrounding. But maybe I'm wrong?

cheers
