Hi -R. Soul. I never received a PM from you. I did notice that you posted to my profile after I received a PM from Quasar. I don't understand what posting to someones profile actually is. I got one a few months back and inquired with the mods as to what that is and what the purpose of it would be as opposed to a PM, but didn't get a sufficient answer. The message you sent me did not show up in my PM list, nor did I get an email alerting me to the message. I noticed it after I logged on the the site.

Ah.... I see that now. I was using my phone so might have pressed the wrong thing.
It would have been much easier if it was called 'pm' or 'private message' instead of 'start a conversation'. I don't know any other board that calls it that.

Sorry for your trouble, especially if the confusion cost you a chance to get the EZX that I took. I agree that the lingo should be consistent with usual PM verbiage.
 
It's confusing and I still don't see the purpose. It's like FB? Where you post to someones's profile and it's a public conversation? Who wants that here? I had someone send me a profile post regarding a debate that was taking place in a thread. I'm thinking, ok he wants to take this private now, but then other users were reading it and chiming in. That struck me as not quite right, although I didn't really understand what a profile post was (and maybe nether did the person who sent it), so I asked the powers that be what it was and why it was, but I never got a clear answer.
