Initial 'foundational' Percussion Lib _ SF Joby Burgess OR LADD ??

You're welcome, but note that I'm not comparing LADD to SF_Redux, because I don't know that library. I do know LADD, of course, and I like it a lot so I'm happy to answer questions about it.

The thing about libraries is that they're all different, and each one has a lot of great stuff... except the one thing you're looking for. :) Hopefully it also works the other way around - you find a surprise use for something you weren't looking for.

Also, "cinematic" usually just means a large hall orchestral sound. I think every percussion library can do that if you use a lot of reverb. It's not like strings, which usually means you're after a big section sound.

Ha! Just more of my ignorance showing ... not staying focused on percussion details ...

At this point, bottom line (for me) between LADD or SF_REDUX, is how quickly decent results can be produced.
LADD provides some helpful goodies, while SF_REDUX does not.

I was blown away when LADD was introduced... the GUI, the tools to create rhythmic awesomeness, and the sound... unlike many of the huge percussion/drum libraries I have, LADD, like The Orchestra and Novo, ventured into new creative territories. I have dozens of drum libs... and unfortunately it so happens that when LADD came out I was beyond broke and never sprung for it... didn't really NEED it, having most everything else under the sun...and $800 was just tooooooo much! But I thank you for raising this issue again. And this price is AWESOME

To me, it is becoming more about the power of the GUI which sits on top of the samples... and LADD is still kick ass. I was sooo frustrated when the intro price ended and now, years later, I will add this at a rediculous price! Does a perfect instrument, or an extremely well thought out instrument need updating? Heavyocity doesn't bother... they get it right the first time! I think the same goes for Audiobro...

In the middle of final days of momcare so still haven't downloaded many recent buys like keyscape...It's been four months since I've been able to seriously sit down and compose cept for one night when I poured all my climate change angst into a spontaneous extemporaneous song... yet building the dream for later continues unabated! I'm adding LADD to this list. I think there is no comparison to basic percussion libraries like HZ/SA Percussion...the GUI is way more powerful and lets you do soooo much more and at this price, I'm in!

 BOTH are in Cart(s) and both have been in an out many times ....

SF_REDUX is so conservative, trustworthy, zzzzzzzz ....

LADD adds excitement, stimulus, creativity __ as far as many have now stated, and from all videos reviewed so far. ..... and YES, I do have & luv The Orchestra !
[[ No tears, but also got BO_Inspire @ intro, and not having as much 'fun'. Would resell, but don't believe I'm allowed ? ]]

Anyhoo ... glad to hear your trusted, enthusiastic LADD impressions.

we are two like minded aholes, sostenuto... I'm just older!
and we both have TO and inspire... and I agree, although for my laptop, I'll get use out of inspire for remote creating if I ever do it.

But we seem to be in total agreement about the importance of the GUI... and while I have loads of Spitfire stuff, waaaayyyy tooo much money invested in this area, I've belatedly realized the huge importance of the GUI and it is here where LADD, Heavy, and a few others excel...

You'll get it...it really IS a ridiculous deal. I'll be downloading tonight!

Super Cool ! Just ordered and starting download shortly .... Really looking forward

LADD installed and all fine on both Win10Pro Desktop PC DAW(s). Sebastian's support pushed me over the top easily and professionally. Great resource for Audiobro !!

Making fun new sounds already and watching tutorial vids.
Sincere appreciation for the great help here !!

Just bought! Wanted LADD for a long time and price is just irresistable

Good on you !!! Really trusting LADD will turn out as solid choice versus SF Perc.
LADD (and The Orchestra) are ventures away from SF Audio, and should be fine when combined ?

On the patch pdf of Ladd the timpani rolls are indicated as velocity based. That's a bit strange because then how can you use this patch if you want a seamless roll crescendo? Does anybody know who owns this library how this works?

Roll crescendos has its own patch.

So much to learn and enjoy so far. Have already had extraordinary Support from Andrew and Sebastian
but ..... nitty concern with Orchestral Percussion _ Chimes. DAW-Audio is working well with everything, but the Chimes sample plays almost inaudibly ! Have been tasked to run sine wave test in Reaper ( apparently high frequency test ) but everything run daily has no issue whatsoever. PC/Win10 Pro/ Kontakt v5.6.8/ Saffire Pro14 I/F/ Yami HS8(s). Really doubt system frequency response issues at range of CHIMES sample.

Can anyone do quick check in LADD/Orchestral Percussion/Chimes and comment?? Have even had new Sample sent/installed and no change.
Really ... cannot hear enough to utilize properly. :barefoot:

Yes, I am seeing the same problem on my system.

Thank-you !!! Will sleep better tonight, knowing Oldheimers is still not here yet

Will not reference you, but can now get back to Audibro and ask for their careful review.
Shaker 1&2 sample is close to the same, but perhaps tolerable.

Could you possibly post which patches those are, specifically for tymp and snares? I also am only finding the velocity controlled patches. thanks!
I was referring to the timpani only but here is what I found:
Tonal Percussion -> Tympani Cresc (vel speed).nki
Both Snare patches have some crescendo rolls in the mid-to-upper range of the keyboard, but it appears to be not as flexible as the timpani.

Chimes & shaker seem fine here. You didn't accidentally hit one of the special effects key switches?
